His mind was so foggy he couldn't think straight. It felt like there was a dark cloud covering up his state of mind. Where was he? Was he still in the hospital? He tried to remember what had happened before he went out, if he had been moved or not, but he was too out of it to try and focus on that train of thought. Thankfully, he could feel the fog beginning to clear and his eyelids growing lighter. He cracked his eyes open, but all he could see was a blur of colors and shapes. He could hear something faint in the background, that soon cut through the fog like a blade. His vision began to clear and that's when he saw his father standing over him and could hear him calling his name.

"Jaime?" he called in question, "can you hear me?" Jaime looked around to find he was lying in a hospital room. He was moved, but how? And when?

"What happened?" Jaime asked. He looked around and saw Erin sitting in a chair nest to him watching him.

"I found you on the floor of the cafeteria," Erin explained, "you were out cold. I called dad, then called the nurse, and you were brought here."

"You mind telling us what happened?" Frank asked and Jaime took a minute to rack his brain.

"This guy came out of nowhere," Jaime explained, "I was just leaving with Danny's water when he attacked me from behind. I felt the needle go in and then I was guided to the ground and went under. This guy waited 'till my eyes closed. He watched me." They seemed disturbed to learn this, but not surprised.

"That's because he wanted to wait 'till he was able to position you," his father admitted, "he left you lying there, and posed you like you were about to be put in a casket to send me a message." Jaime let those words sink in. This person was good. Really good. That's what scared him. Would they be able to catch this guy before another Reagan got attacked as a warning? That's when he thought of his older brother. If Erin and his dad were with him, who was with Danny?

"What about Danny? Is he okay?" Jaime asked panic resonating in his voice.

"Danny's fine," Frank reassured, "I have two uniforms outside his room as we speak."

"Right now he's asleep, but he's gonna have questions when he wakes up," Erin continued. That relaxed him enough.

"So when do I get out of here?" Jaime asked. Part of him was relieved. Relieved that Danny was going to be okay. But the other part of him was nervous about the whole situation. Was the rest of his family going to be okay? Was his brother truly protected? He knew he needed to keep calm, but there was a small part of him that couldn't help but panic.

"You'll be released tomorrow," his father explained to him, "Nicky, Linda, and the boys are at home with Pop. We're gonna head there to try and get some rest. There'll be a uniform posted outside your room. Try and get some sleep. We got this covered. I don't want you worrying."

"Yes sir," Jaime answered and with that he received warm goodbyes and was left alone to rest.
