It was only about 12:00 in the afternoon when officer Jamie Reagan stopped by a coffee cart on the streets of New York with his partner Eddie Janko for a cup. The radio had been pretty quiet, so they had been spending the past hours patrolling the streets keeping their eyes open and talking. There was something special about his relationship with his partner that stretched past them just walking the beat that he wouldn't give up for anything. Just then on their way back to the car, a buzz was heard over the radio, then a voice calling their car was heard.

"Central 12 David," it said, and Jamie grabbed the speaker on his shoulder to answer.

"12 David to Central," he said over the air.

"12 David we have an explosion over at the 54 requesting all available units at the scene forth with." Jamie's heart was beating rapidly against his chest. He stood there in the streets frozen as if his feet were bolted to the ground. His mouth went dry and he could barely breathe. He looked at Eddie and she knew the same thing he did. The 54. That was Danny's precinct. Danny was supposed to work today and Erin was working with him on a case at his precinct. His brother and sister were both in a building that had just been blown to bits by a bomb that someone had placed inside it. He knew he couldn't just stand there looking scared. Soon his brain began to work again and he responded to his commands.

"12 David responding," he said and the two made their way to the car and pulled out with sirens blazing.

She blinked continuously trying to straighten out her vision as her ears kept ringing. Soon when she could see straight, she found herself looking at her secretary lying motionless on the floor with rubble from the building's structure. She felt her legs burning and looked down to see them covered in dusty scratches. That's when she knew what really happened. The loud booms, the ringing in her ears, the rubble all over the ground, the scratches on her leg. Someone blew up the precinct. She crawled through the rocks and dust over to the girl and placed her hands on her neck. There was no pulse. She was dead. Then her adrenaline kicked in and her heart began to race. Danny. He was heading to see where the sound had come from and he was right by the doorway when the second blast went off. Where was Danny? Knowing she needed to find him, she stood up and began to make her way out of the now partly destroyed office. She walked through the rubble and couldn't believe her eyes. Pieces of the ceiling lay on the ground as if the sky were falling. Walls were destroyed and everything was scattered everywhere. The whole place was a disaster zone. Officers who had survived began walking out of the building helping whoever they could escape the damage. But where was Danny? Just then she heard a moan and turned to see someone underneath scattered debris. It wasn't enough to bury them alive, but it probably did enough damage to get a concussion and possibly a few broken bones. Just then she heard the man's voice and a wave of relief passed over her.

"Erin," she heard a very weak voice call out, and she dove towards the body. Tears were forming in her eyes as began to dig him out. It was Danny under all that debris. When she pulled out the final rock from on top of him, she saw the damage the explosion has caused him. His hair line was traced with a cut that left blood in the little hair on his head, there were cuts, and bruises all over his face and neck and from the drywall she pulled off of his chest, there was a possibility that he had some bruised or even broken ribs. Any other injuries he may have received, she couldn't see, but right now she had to make sure that he was okay.
