Yelling at the sky
Screaming at the world
Baby, why'd you go away?
I'm still your girl
Holding on too tight
Head up in the clouds
Heaven only knows
Where you are now

----

Never got the chance
To say a last goodbye
I gotta move on
But it hurts to try

----

I stay up all night
Tell myself I'm alright
Baby, you're just harder to see than most
I put the record on
Wait 'til I hear our song
Every night I'm dancing with your ghost
Every night I'm dancing with your ghost

THE evening air was cool, the gentle creaking of the hammock beneath us was the only sound breaking the silence that hung in the air like a thick fog. We, the Pogues, sat in a semi-circle in the backyard of my house, a subtle breeze weaving through the marsh, carrying with it a mix of salt and nostalgia. The silence that hung in the air was both comforting and unsettling. It was a shared understanding among us that they needed this time to fall apart, to grieve, and to come to terms with the turmoil that had invaded our lives.

I was-- lost in my own thoughts--sat on the hammock, staring out at the marsh with vacant eyes. It had been a week since that adrenaline-fueled impulse led me to the edge of a cliff, a moment that had left me haunted and questioning everything. The unspoken weight of those unanswered questions pressed down on me, and I found solace in the silence we had embraced.

A hot shower and a change of clothes had done little to wash away the turmoil inside me. JJ had come home that evening, oblivious to the emotional whirlwind that had taken place hours earlier. We'd shared a quiet dinner, and the night had melted into a comforting embrace, shutting out the world around us.
