[ the designers make their way into the design room ]
AZARI : Well, Good morning my designers............
DESIGNERS: (chorus response) Good morning Azari ......
AZARI : The energy (sighs) well let's cut to the chase, today marks the very first design challenge where one of you will earn a cash prize and be our first ever design challenge winner and the other will unfortunately kiss the competition goodbye. In celebration of " black valentine " your design challenge for today is dubbed " little black dress" no , literally , a little black dress just kidding don't mind me .
[ distant chatter among the designers]
You have eight hours to put together your design , an hour to fit your models and then I'll meet you on the runway . Grab your materials designers and let the challenge begin!!!!!!
[ Azari exits the design room and all the designers race to get their necessities ]
[ Hours into the assigned task ]

[ CONFESSIONAL.. Kay (BOTSWANA)]
At this point , I'm working on my design and for some reason I feel oh oh , I'm more or less the duff here , infact the misfit here . No, really , look around . Everyone is "hehe-ing" and "haha-ing" and here I am , all quiet as a church mouse and it's not even Sunday . I have to step out , if not I'll become a target .

[CONFESSIONAL .. Niel ( GAM)]
Owwwwwkkaaayyy ..... I went over to grab a sheer black material over the shelf and these "lovely huge -I won't mind my business eyes" of mine chanced by Mag's sketch of her design and guuurrrlll! In my head I was like , what is you creating ? A swimsuit like a leotard ???( makes a cringe face) honey , this is a literal design , right there in the name " little black dress" not "little black bodysuit" . Somebody's gotta go home first ( sips his drink ) .

[ CONFESSIONAL.... Gael ( KEN)]
(Sighs) Did someone forget to turn on the air conditioning???? It's figuratively hot in here . I'm looking at my competitors and everyone is busily sewing , cutting , doing this and that and here I sit still on my sketch . I have to work two times harder as before now .

[ Hours and a break later , the designers have their models ready for the runway ]

AZARI: Welcome back to Fashion Empire ;Battle of the designers . Today , we tasked our designers to create a design in accordance with the theme , "little black dress" in celebration of a "black valentine date" . I am joined today by none other than my two favorite fashion gurus in this industry ; Faces of house of Myra and Fashion-ovel respectively; two time fashion designer of the year , Myra Tranks and celebrity film actor as well as three time clothing line of the year winner , Xilef .....( Azari claps) .

MYRA: Oh Az..ari , you flatter me too much (laughs) and am I sitting at the same panel as Xilef ?????
XILEF : In the flesh (laughs) I'm honoured to be in your presence Ms. Myra and Azari as well . Honestly , I am
AZARI: (laughs) what do you hope to see tonight?
MYRA : ..... dresses .... don't mind me . I am hoping to see authenticity and that wow factor ......
XILEF : A screaming design without shouting and I'm really looking forward to seeing how the designers interpret the theme and bring it into life .
AZARI: The bar has been set . Without further ado , I am your host Azari and let the runway begin!
First up , from South Africa , Nindi .... [split screen ; model walks down the runway]
[ NINDI ,CONFESSIONAL]
My model is walking down the runway in a flowing halter black dress to the thigh . Dazzled with an elbow length sheer glove . Turns around and whips her hair to the side and she's serving back skin . Don't stare too much you might spill your cocktail.

AZARI: Next up , from The Gambia , it's Niel
[ NIEL ,CONFESSIONAL ; SPLIT SCREEN]
Ten , ten , tent on the runway .... I'm serving you a gorgeous little tent dress . Quite unusual but that's Niel (laughs) . A pose here , a pose there and you can't tell me you aren't gagging (laughs).

AZARI: From Kenya , it's Gael .......
[GAEL'S CONFESSIONAL;SPLIT SCREEN]
My design for today is a little and I mean little Kaftan dress . Giving you a beautiful cold date with Prince Charming. (Laughs)

AZARI : Touching down from Rwanda , it's Omario
[ OMARIO ,CONFESSIONAL ; split screen]
Little black dress?? Mmm... let me give you a little princess jumper dress with an inner black sheer fabric . School date and all the boys want to ask her out .(winks)

AZARI: Ghana's very own , Premadonna
[PREMADONNA'S CONFESSIONAL;SPLIT SCREEN ]
Boom! , today I'm giving you a very sexy black strapless empire waist pouf/balloon dress with a beautiful tucked in updo. She has a camera for a bag ready to have all eyes on her . (Makes a camera capturing sound ).

AZARI : Next up , it's Nick from Zambia
[SPLIT SCREEN;NICK'S CONFESSIONAL]
My model today is wearing a very simple yet fit for all occasion bodycon one shoulder dress. The dress is hugging every angle of her body .

AZARI: From Nigeria , it's Bervelyn
[SPLIT SCREEN ; BERV'S CONFESSIONAL]
She walks unto the runway with a big black ball gown and oh ! She realizes it's a "little black dress" theme . She rips the lower part and wow! It's a beautiful little black sun dress with rhinestones as a belt . Why are you screaming??? Please continue (laughs)

AZARI : From Cameroon , it's Evan
[SPLIT SCREEN ; EVAN'S CONFESSIONAL]
I know everyone will go in for the normal ,usual , boring little black dresses so I decided to do a little sexy black Qi Pao . Yes , unusual right ??? We are in China , or Japan or is it Korea??? Anyway we are serving . Walks to the end and she brings down a giant foldable fan written on it "cry about it" (laughs)

AZARI : The pearl of Africa , Uganda's diva , it's Mag
[SPLIT SCREEN;MAG'S CONFESSIONAL]
I'm here , the one you've been waiting for .... a beautiful sheer bodysuit with a drop waist on the thigh ...ugh!!! This is over the top .

AZARI : Finally , from Botswana , it's Kay
[SPLIT SCREEN; KAY'S CONFESSIONAL ]
It's a "black Valentine , little black dress" mmmm what's the best dress to have everyone staring ??? An empire waist dress with gold stones hugging the lower part of the dress ......................

AZARI : Well well well , all too soon we've come to the end of our challenge . Designers , the judges and I will deliberate and later call you in for our verdict . Good luck !
( The designers exit the stage and go back to the design room )

[ UNDESIGNED ]( the designers grab snacks and await)
NINDI (RSA): Phew! That was honestly intense .
NIEL(GAM) : Guurl , tell me about it .... I totally forgot about an accessory I made for my model . (Laughs)
KAY(BOT) : Honestly I think Berv , you might be in the top with that reveal you made ... woo! That was smart .
MAG (UGA) : (let's out an awkward laughter ) but the reveal didn't meet the theme ... a ball gown turn sun dress??? Just saying since we are giving opinions
BERV (NIG) : Girl , you are not going to come for my design . Don't push me there
MAG (UGA) : well , unfortunately I'm coming for your design so I'm pushing you there ....
BERV ( NIG ) : if I was quick to criticize your design , your bodysuit should've matched your drop down who knows what but it didn't . Everyone saw it .....
( Mag rolls her eyes and leaves ....... ....... )
(Awkward)

[ Back to the runway ....... the designers are called back on stage ]
AZARI : We have reached a consensus after a gruesome deliberation and ........Premadonna , Evan and Nindi congratulations you are our top three(3) designers of the week . (Claps from the designers) but there can only be one winner .......... congratulations Evan , you are our first challenge winner . You three may go back .
Gael , Nick and Mag ... unfortunately you are our bottom 3 designers of the week . The rest , you may go back , you are safe . Upon careful deliberation , we decided to save Mag . Your drop down waist was genius but with a bodysuit ??? Mmm questionable . You live to slay another day . You may join the others .
Gael and Nick , unfortunately your fate rests in the hands of the challenge winner, Evan ...... Evan! Please announce your decision ...........

EVAN : It's very difficult being put in the position to eliminate a fellow designer . I chose to eliminate this designer because , I think the designer didn't really meet the theme .... I'm very sorry but I eliminate ....................................
