Forbidden hide and seek

"We should play hide and seek" Niki had his finger in his mouth but he took it out and stared at his brothers.

"No we shouldn't. That's a terrible idea, Niki" Heeseung shook his head. He was trying to get some school done but being outside with his brothers was definitely not a good place to be doing that.

"Yeah. Remember what happened last time?" Jay reminded the others. All of them shuddered and shook their heads except Niki, who just sulked. All of a sudden, he got up and ran off.

"Hide and seek?" Jake guessed.

"Yep" Heeseung sighed and stood up, covering his eyes and counting. There was a reason that none of the boys were allowed to play hide and seek and it was Jungwon and Sunoo's fault actually with the help of Sunghoon, who had decided to put Jungwon onto the top shelf of the boys closet and Sunoo got on top of the fridge somehow. Once Ji-an found them, she banned all the boys from playing hide and seek again. Of course, there was really no way for her to keep track of what they were actually doing. 

"Jungwon, you have got to find a better hiding place" Heeseung put his hands on his hips, looking at his brother. Jungwon huffed and climbed out from the small space between the couch and the wall. Heesung held his hand out and Jungwon took it, following Heeseung around the house as they tried to find the rest of their brothers. It wasn't long until Heeseung found all his brothers and then it was Sunoo's turn to be seeker. That was where things started to go wrong for the boys. Ji-an was in her little study, where she went to do her work without being interrupted. It was in a part of the house where she could hear everything that went on even if the boys were upstairs and there was a big window on one side of the room that she kept open so she could hear her brothers if they were outside. 

Jungwon, upset at being caught as quickly as he had been in the previous round, decided to go somewhere that none of his brothers could reach no matter how much they tried. 

"Has anyone seen Jungwon?" All the boys except the second maknae walked into the room, all a little puzzled. Jungwon watched them from his spot, hidden in a small corner between the wall and a cabinet on top of the fridge. The space was quite small, so that only Jungwon and Niki could fit into it, but none of the others minus the youngest two knew that the wall caved in a little bit behind the cupboard so it was a perfect place for hiding and if Jungwon positioned himself right, he was completely hidden from view. 

"Jungwon!" Jay cupped his hands around his mouth, yelling as loud as possible without getting Ji-an's attention. He failed.

"Are you guys missing Jungwon?" Ji-an guessed even though it was obvious. Jungwon curled up further into his little corner but stayed leaning forward enough that he could still see what was happening. 

"Umm..." Sunoo and Niki backed away, hiding behind their brothers. Jake and Sunghoon moved slightly closer to Heeseung and Jay for protection. 

"Boys, where is Jungwon?" Ji-an knew now that something was wrong and she crossed her arms. 

"Hiding?" Jay shrugged. Heeseung nodded along. It was the best they could do on such short notice but none of them were expecting it to actually work. 

"One" Ji-an waited, giving each boy a stern look. Niki shuffled back and forth from one foot to the other. 

"Niki and Sunoo, go to the corner" Ji-an decided. 

"But-" Sunoo took his brother's hand, peeking out from behind Jay. Ji-an pointed to one of the corners and watched her younger brothers walk off. 

"Want to tell me now?" She turned back to the older four. None of them said anything. Ji-an heaved a deep sigh, as if she had suddenly been hit with a wave of tiredness.
