The time for them to leave had come and Jackson was ready with his bags. " Welcome son to a one-time experience." Riley's Grandpa said padding him on his back. Jamie awkwardly sat on a chair waiting for him to walk in. They looked at each other trying not to be obvious. When anyone inside could feel the tension.
" Are you guys okay?" Chadson asked taking off his shoes. Jamie nodded first and then so did Jackson. As the trip went on silence was still going on. Even Stevy couldn't get them to laugh at his jokes. They all tried to lighten the mood but nothing seemed to work.
When Jamie decided to go to the small room Riley followed behind him. " Did something happen between you guys?" Jamie shook his head and laid back on the bed. " I'm tired that is all." Riley decided to walk out and close the door. When someone knocked on his door it was Chadson.
" Can I lay next to you?" Jamie smiled and Chadson took a cute jump on the bed. " Are you going to tell me what's going on?" He crossed his eyes and smirked. " Nothing, I'm tired and don't feel like going back yet." Chad turned sideways to face Jamie and kissed him on his forehead. " Don't worry everything will work out. Try to enjoy having this fine specimen next to you." Jamie laughed so hard that everyone could hear it.
Stevy opened the door wide and jumped on the bed. Followed by him came Ace shirtless and Riley with one headphone on. " Finally you're smiling," Ace shouts from all the noise. When Jackson takes a peak on the door. " Let's join them shall we." Uncle Wesley wearing nothing but his underwear says behind him. Jackson red from his face can't help but smile wide. That Jamie can't help but look at him.
" You guys are wild."
They broke the ice and got to know Jackson. Jamie couldn't believe he now knew how to play guitar. Or remember how to play and beat everyone at cards. Jackson and the guys hit it off for two days. The next morning on the last few hours before getting back to the city. All of them made a promise to do it again. Jamie agreed as he felt forced to do so.
" We are almost there everybody, time to go back into reality." The mobile home pulled out in front of the park. And one by one got down and at last Jamie stepped out with Jackson behind. " Are you sure you want to do this," Jamie asked looking up at him.
" Well, I gotta go." Chadson gave each one of them a kiss on the cheek. Even Jackson was surprised by it. Next to him, Ace gave a hug to each one of them and ran off. After him Stevy hi five each one of them. Then, Uncle Wesley putting on a shirt barefoot said goodbye. At last Riley's grandpa said his goodbye and so did Riley.
Jamie called for a taxi for Jackson and him.
" Jamie, is that you."
A familiar male voice said. He took a turn and saw who it was.
" Hi, Cooper Valdrogen."
Jackson shaked his hands giving him a small smile.
" Heard you left with Riley. Are you two a thing now?"
Seems as if someone else finds himself jealous.
" No, his family and he invited me to their trip," Jamie says walking away.
" You look familiar have we met before?"
Cooper asked Jackson putting his hand on his shoulder.
" Friend of your family maybe that's why."
They walk up to a taxi that just pulled over.
" Where you guys going?"
Jamie closes the door as Jackson throws in the bags.
" My apartment." He answers Cooper who keeps staring at Jackson.
" Okay,"
Cooper walks away and the taxi driver begins to drive.
The good thing about Griffin's apartment is not so far. Fifteen minutes top or so and they would arrive. " Cooper seemed a little bit tense. Jealous almost of me." He could tell right away Jamie was not telling him something. " Didn't notice, Cooper seems to always be tense." With that Jackson stays quiet.
" Here we are, I live with a roommate named Griffin. He is a friend of Adam and Cooper. Also was sort of a football star. And yes he is straight or so I think. Let's go introduce you to him." For some reason, he happened to be home. When he should be at work at this hour.
Jamie knocked three times and no one opened. Then, suddenly Griffin ran out the door to hug him. " Welcome back roomie." He spinned Jamie around not noticing Jackson. " Woah, who's this guy?" Jackson introduced himself as his real name. " I'm Jackson." Then it hit Griffin. Who stood there with a gray crop top on with gray sweat shorts and sandals.
" Long story, I will explain later. We are here to drop off my bags and his. We are going to the Valdrogen's company." They walked in fast and directly to his room. " Okay, you should know that Adam and Cooper Valdrogen came every day. They kept wanting to see you and
get in contact with you."
Jamie couldn't ignore what Griffin was telling him. He couldn't believe they both wanted to see him. " Well, I'm here now, and don't worry they won't bother you again. Can I use your truck?" Griffin grabbed his keys and gave them to them. " Careful, and hope you guys join me for dinner." Jackson waved goodbye to Griffin as he got in the passenger seat.
" Nothing happened huh, between you and them," Jackson said turning on the radio.
They drove in silence to the building parking driveaway. " This is going to be chaos, you know that right?" Jamie kept repeating to him. " Don't you want to be free of what happened that night?" Luckily, no one seemed to be around. The whole area was clear. Jamie was expecting to see someone.
Everyone kept looking at them as they walked by but no one familiar was around. Jamie remembered where Archer's office was. He knocked twice and the woman's voice said to come in. When Jamie opened the door it was no other than Annelise Valdrogen.
" You again, he is not here. My husband had to leave the city for work. What do you want?" She didn't even notice Jackson behind him. She kept fixing some papers on the desk. " Hello, Aunt Annelise it's me, Jackson." Annelise turned pale as she slowly picked her head up.
" What do you think you're doing? Paying someone to pretend to be Jackson." Jamie took a step back as Jackson walked closer to her. " It's me, I've been in hiding for almost three years. I had an accident and had to get my nose fixed." Annelise shouted to them to get out.
When Jackson pulled out a picture from his pocket. " My mother and I."
Annelise calmed down and took the picture closer to her eyes. She even fell back on the desk chair. " How could this be? We thought you were dead. How do you even know him?" Annelise kept blattering all over the place.
" What's going on here?"
Adam shouted from the door. As Jamie turned around to see who said that.
" Jamie your back." He ran to him.
" Leave me alone with Jackson. Adam take him out of my office."
Annelise said looking at Jamie.
" No, he stays Aunt Annelise. You should know that he and I were married."
Adam looked down at Jamie surprised like his mother.
" You were married to him? And you knew he was family. How could you hide this from
us? After, my husband gave you a job and his trust. You even messed with our sons."
Jamie's eyes went wide and shut everyone up. " First of Mrs.Valdrogen, I didn't know he was alive. Second, your sons are the ones who made a bet on me. And third. I did fall in love..."
Annelise got up and hugged Jackson tight while crying.
" Are you guys back together?" She asked both of them. Jamie with tears rolling down looked at Jackson. Who gave him that look that made Jamie forgive him always. " No. Jackson and I are nothing now." He said before leaving and walking out the door.
Adam followed right behind him.
