Chapter 20

The day has come for the funeral of Jackson. Cooper and Jamie have been very distant since that morning. Annalise has a whole area by herself. Behind her are Alice and Darell with Adam. " Let's sit here," Jamie said to Cooper. They took a seat next to Adam. The triangle of love had formed. After the service, Annalise and Jamie walked to the casket. " May he rest in peace and you never have some again." She snarled at him.

Everyone was waiting for them to walk out. Annalise walked through them first and then Jamie joined them. As he stepped outside, a motorcyclist passed by with a gun. Directly shooting at Jamie's stomach. Annalise smiled as she ran away to her car. Cooper pulled out his phone and called for an ambulance in hysteria.

Jamie's eyes closed just as the policemen approached them. He had become unconscious. When the ambulance arrived Cooper joined Jamie in it. They cleaned his hands which were covered in blood. Adam drove right behind them with Alice and Darell. Inside the ambulance a knocked-out Jamie had begun to dream.

This time it was a little different, there was sand everywhere. He could feel it in his toes. As he looked up in the middle of a bright light stood Jackson. " Welcome back Jamie," With a smile he walked towards Jamie and asked him to follow him. They walk into the bright white light to Asher's home.

" You are dying Jamie. Someone has shot you in the stomach. The doctors are trying to do everything to save you. Cooper is very worried and so are the others. I know you will fight this and survive. This place here is where your destiny is waiting. Jamie, you must not give up. There's a whole life of happiness that awaits you. The love of your love will come here. You're strong Jamie. No other person knows that more than I do. Let me go and live for you, Jamie."

Jackson soon began to vanish and so did Asher's home. A loud beeping sound through Jamie's ears. " You've awaken, I call the doctor." Adam ran out the door and shouted for a doctor. Jamie had done what Jackson told him. He had awakened in pain but alive.

After, the doctor finished checking him completely. Adam walked in again and took a seat next to Jamie. " Cooper is not answering his phone. We have been trying to get a hold of him." He said looking down at his phone.

" Luckily the bullet didn't do so much damage. That doesn't mean that you won't be in pain. You've got stitches and need to come back here in three weeks. I've made sure your breathing is okay and is all good. Also, try not to move so much, he is going to need a wheelchair."

The door opened at that moment and Cooper rushed in looking like a mess. " Baby, you

awake." He took off his glasses and went directly to kiss Jamie. " I'm guessing you're the boyfriend? Here are all the precautions he needs to take and medication. See you guys in three weeks." Adam took the papers since Cooper was too busy with Jamie.

As the doctor left Adam stood at the door. " Jamie is going to need a lot of care. I'm free to help you take care of him. We should put our problems aside for him." Cooper rolled his eyes and turned around to face him. " Fine, only because you're still family and you are going to be in my house. Remember one thing though, he is my boyfriend." Adam now rolled his eyes and took a seat on another chair.

" Are you staying tonight? They are letting him go tomorrow morning." Cooper nodded and kept looking down at Jamie. " What happened to you?" Jamie laughed for a second before the pain started.

Adam laughed even harder than Jamie to tease Cooper. " Couldn't sleep well. Went for a drink and put on whatever I found on the floor." Laughing, he bends down close to the bed. " Yeah, you kind of stink too," Adam said from behind him.

" Go shower, I promise that I won't try anything. Do us all a favor," said Adam with his hand on Cooper's shoulder. " I'll be okay," Jamie said reassuring him. He smiles weakly at him. " Fine, be back in a bit." Before he left, Cooper kissed him one more time. He even kissed Jamie's forehead.

" Please don't let him ever come out like that again in public," Adam said as he left through the door. Jamie tried so hard to hold his laugh. " You know I never thought Cooper would fall for someone like this. This is unbelievable but he is actually in love with you. Don't tell him but I even saw him cry a little in the waiting area. " Jamie smiled and turned around to face the other way.

" What about you?

Adam cleared his voice and shifted on the chair.

" I was freaking out too." He said seriously getting up from his chair.

" They' 'll get the bastard who did this to you."

Jamie stayed quiet knowing it was Annalise who did this. He wasn't sure but he didn't rule it out either. No one other than her had rage towards him. Except for Archer Valdrogen that was also a suspect to him.

" Well look at you now." Cooper had returned now in a white button shirt and jeans. With his hair perfectly pulled back. Faking a laugh he smacked Adam on the shoulder.

" I got to go it's getting late. See you guys tomorrow."

Jamie turned slowly around to say goodbye to him.

" How are you feeling babe?"

" Better now." He smiled at Cooper as he covered him with the blanket.

" Don't worry soon you will be out of here." With a kiss on his lips twice, he took a seat next to the bed. " What did Adam and you talk about?"

" About you. How you were freaking out that you even cried. He was very surprised by that. Which proves to me that you do have feelings. I love you more."

Cooper's face turned red in an instant.

" I'm going to kick his ass."

They talked and carefully laughed for the rest of the day. When both of them were very tired went to sleep in their place. First Cooper fell asleep on the chair, using his jacket as a cover. Jamie fell to sleep right after him with his hand grabbing Cooper's hand.

The next morning, a nurse came in to notify them that he was ready to go. Cooper woke up and stood up from his chair fast. When another nurse walked in with a wheelchair. He shook Jamie a little for him to wake up.

" Time to go baby."

He opened his eyes and tried to sit up. The two nurses ran to him to help him to the wheelchair. " Hey, we are on our way home. Meet us there." Cooper said to Adam on the phone. They pushed Jamie to the door and he took over. After taking certain elevators and walking hallways. Finally, they made it to the parking lot. Where Cooper left Jamie waiting for him to bring the car to him.

" Careful babe, slowly." He repeated to Jamie as the nurse took the wheelchair from Jamie. She said her goodbyes and walked back inside. Cooper for the first time drove away slowly. " Driving carefully it might hurt if I drive fast. And also you don't have your seat belt on."

" For the first time, I'm not fearing for my life driving with you."
