Dark,brooding and intimidating: the barron tree's towered over the awkard, distanced couple below them. The sticky, soggy mud below their feet freezed under their atmosphere, weeds and daisys alike throwing themselves out of their way.
The pair walking with their arms hugging themselves, mainly for warmth but also for emotional support, they didn't want to lose what they had- it was something familiar, comforting. But deep down they knew it was the best for themselves and each other. Velvet was drowning and Mikey had become reliant on his now ex for everything- he didn't know how to do anything without her. It was no-ones fault, they didn't know it would happen like this, they didn't know it would happen. They didn't know it would end up like this- it was only a kiss.
Mikey had taken Velvet's confession about Ray suprisingly well, much better than she thought. He was hurt- which is completely valid, but he still accepted it. They both agreed that should something happen, they will always be there for each other. They weren't loosing each other. They were just old friends reuniting again.
