As per usual I am awakened by the burning sensation on my foot as I remember the paralyzing night my family died. As I scream out, I am suddenly awake, in the cave next to Toothless. He is used to this by now, and is still peacefully asleep. I however know that I will not be able to fall back asleep, so I get up and walk over to the saddle that is laying on the floor. I reach into the first bag on the left side of the saddle, and pull out a new shirt for me to wear. It isn't anything fancy, just a long sleeved shirt and I pair it with a goat hide vest that is gray and brown. The combination matched with my black pants fit my figure well, and I feel confident in it. I place my dagger into my new pair of boots and walk out of the cave ready to embrace the day.

The sun is still coming up when I begin my walk or rather limp to the creek. My body is still badly bruised and I am still not able to move my right arm much. In the reflection of the water, I can see that I have plenty of bruises on my face and one bad one across my right eye. Thankfully I found the supplies to make a makeshift harness for my arm to keep it from moving and causing it to get worse.

I have made a pile of fish for Toothless to the right of me when I hear a branch snapping behind me and I Shoot around so quickly I startle the man creeping behind me so badly, he falls to the ground. I look at the man and yell "Who are you?!" to which he does not respond. Why does he seem familiar?

The man in front of me had to be no taller than six feet, he was really skinny, he appeared to have some muscles but he was not a large man like most vikings are. He had nice auburn hair that isn't short but did not pass his shoulders. He wore a brown leather tunic and paired it with darker brown leather pants and a nice pair of boots. Then there were his eyes, he had these piercing green eyes that bore into my soul, I have seen these eyes before, But where?

He pulled himself up into a kneeling position and then into a standing position and I carefully backed up just a little bit. He noticed the fear on my face and he put his hands out to show me that he is no threat, just as I did to Toothless when we met. Does he think I'm a wild animal?

"Why are you covered in bruises?" the mysterious man asked, worried

"That is none of your business, what do you want?" I responded with a bit of anger in my voice, still trying to figure out where I knew this man from

"I mean no harm, I'm just concerned for you" He says lowering his hands and taking a step closer to me

"I did not ask you to be concerned for me, you do not even know me." I say slightly annoyed

"I'm so sorry, I haven't introduced myself, My name is Hiccup" He says with a soft smile, again stepping closer to me

"Hiccup? I know that name! That's the scrawny boy that helped me free the dragons! It couldn't be him, he was much shorter and super scrawny, the man before me was just that, a man." I thought to myself.

It became rather apparent to me that he did not recognize me without my mask when he asked "What is your name?"

"Stay away from me" I responded, dismissing his question.

"I'm not going to hurt you, I swear, what is your name?" He asks, inching just a little more

He couldn't have been more than eight feet from me. I have no idea who this man is, but he is the first person I've met who doesn't seem like a threat to me. Not because I can't take everyone else in a fight, or that I think everyone else wants to fight me, but with him, it feels like his soul is talking to mine.

After telling him my name, he smiles "That is a beautiful name, I knew a girl with that name once" he says, causing me to chuckle to myself

"What do you want from me?" I ask, amazed he still dosen't recognize me

"I saw you by the water, and was concerned, no Berkians come out this far." he says

"Berkians?" I state more than ask

"Well yeah, you're on Berk our small happy island, and "Berkians" is what we refer to ourselves as" He says confidently

Berk, so that's where we crash landed

"You okay?" He asks pulling me from my thoughts

"Fine" I said dryly

"What happened to your arm?" He asks

"Doesn't matter" I say unwilling to share

"We have an amazing healer in the village, come with me and I can take you to her" he says while reaching out his hand to me, and stepping even closer to me.

"No." I say, giving him no reasoning

"But she can help you heal quicker, and get rid of the pain" He says confused

"You do not know me, I'm not going to "Berk" with you" I said now a little upset

"I understand, But would it be okay if we kept you company?" he asked

"We?"

Just after I said that, a blue and white dragon walks out of the shadows after being beckoned by Hiccup. The dragon walks up to me and immediately decides to rub against me, deciding that I am no threat to her or Hiccup. Mainly because we've met before

"Wow. She's only ever been this friendly to one other person before, and it wasn't even me" Hiccup says with a slight sense of jealousy in his tone. Suddenly, I hear him whisper my name under his breath, but I don't think it was said to me, more in remembrance of the girl I was when we met.

"Weird" I responded, not wanting to tell him about Toothless "she's beautiful, does she have a name?" I ask, even though I already knew it.

"Stormfly" He responds walking next to me, but keeping distance between us. We spend the next few minutes petting his dragon, until she finds a baby nadder in the woods and decides to go play with it.

He sits down on the bank looking towards the creek, and I join him keeping a good amount of distance between the two of us.

"Why are you in the woods?" I ask, trying to figure out why he was out here

"My old friend used to love it out here, so sometimes I come out here to remember her" He says sighing "You? He asks, not realizing I knew he was talking about me.

"I'm just here until I heal, then Im leaving" I say

"Wha-" he starts to say, but then cuts himself off not trying to pry "is it okay if I sit here with you for a while?" He asks

"Sure" I say, still cautious, not wanting to let him know who I truly am.

We spent the rest of the day sitting at the creek, and every so often Stormfly would come over and lay in the space between Hiccup and I. I don't talk much, I only respond to whatever he decides to talk about. I am careful with information that I share so that he does not figure out who I am. To me, the worst thing you can do is get too close to a person. I made that mistake before, and I will not make it again.

We ended up staying until the sun went down and suddenly Hiccup states "I should get going before my father loses his mind" while walking away

Suddenly he stops, turns towards me and asks kindly "Would it be okay if I returned tomorrow?"

"Yes" I say, slightly blushing Why would I say that?

"Great! I will see you tomorrow!" He says excitedly. He then climbs on to his saddle on stormfly and flies off into the night. I grab the fish I got for Toothless and walk back to the cave, where I am met with a very hungry Toothless.

I lay on the ground thinking about today. It makes perfect sense that Hiccup does not remember me, I was shorter and my hair was to my shoulders. Now my hair hangs to my rib cage. Not to mention the full face mask I was wearing when we met.

I think about the way he smiles every time he mentioned the girl he used to know, and how after the happiness fades, you can see the sadness he feels. He misses me and I can tell.

I miss him too, but he can not know who I am.
