Brianna

I didn't expect to see Malachi. I'm not saying that I didn't expect to see him ever again, I just didn't expect to see him before I figured out how to tell him. I guess fate has a way of figuring that shit out for you, if you take too fucking long.

I hadn't spoken to Malachi in weeks and when he did call, I hardly would answer if at all. He didn't fail to reach out to me via text telling me good morning and that he missed my voice. I missed him too, but with everything that happened, I really didn't know how to go forward. I didn't want to subject Erika back into some shit.

So I was very surprised to see this motherfucker at the food court on the day Erika and I went to lunch. What are the fucking odds?

"Can you please explain everything to me? What is going on?" Malachi asked, looking confused as hell.

"Yes. First of all, I'm sorry. She just went along with it because I asked her to do so," I said pointing back in the direction of Erika.

"Asked her to do what?" He leaned forward trying to get a better understanding.

"Listen," I turned toward him and looked him in his eyes. "The woman you took to dinner, her name is Erika." Malachi's eyes widened. "I am Bri, or Brianna." I winced as I uttered the truth.

He sat there staring at me, blinking trying to process the information I just gave him. He looked away and put his face in his hands. He folded his arms and leaned back, gazing at me.

"So, you are the person that I have been talking to on the phone?" He pointed at me.

"Yes." I answered honestly, looking directly at him. "I am the one." He smiled and looked away. I wasn't sure how to take his response. He could have been one of those people who laughs to keep from crying.

"Wow." He blinked hard and looked back at me. "Wow."

"I'm sorry."

"Of all days, this day has been one for the books." He rubbed his face and looked back at me, then leaned forward again. "So why didn't you send me your picture?"

"I panicked. I didn't think you would be interested." I spoke softly. He was curious and not upset. I was surprised at his reaction. He seemed intrigued. He was the same way when I had met him outside the building.

"But I had met you outside your building?"

"I know. I didn't want you to think I was that type of person."

"What? Sexy?" Malachi said and I felt a chill run across my back. Did he just say sexy?

"Uh,..well..sexual is more like it." I smiled and whispered softly.

"I would agree." He smiled bashfully at me; his smile made my heart flutter. "But you are a human being and you have urges, just like the next person."

"I'm really sorry, I should have just said something in the beginning. I just didn't think you would be interested in..." My voice trailed off.

"A full-figured woman?" I looked at him as he spoke confidently.

"Yes."

"I am absolutely interested." Malachi voiced. He leaned forward and softly touched my hand. "Do you know I've been looking for you?"

"For me? Seriously?"

"Yes."

"But the dinner,"

"It was nice, but I started noticing a few things about your friend during dinner that I wasn't so sure of, but now it makes sense."
