Benjamin

I had no concept of how much time had passed. Months? I wasn't sure. What I was sure of was the Alpha took it upon himself to punish me daily for simply existing.

My naked body was currently dangling from a hook in the ceiling, attached at my cuffs. The pain was bad, yes. I had blood running down my arms from the cuffs digging into my wrists, the silver burning the open wounds. But I knew this pain was nothing compared to what was coming.

The Alpha stood several feet from me, with a terrifying weapon gripped in his hand.

A whip.

My heart began to race at the sight of this. He dipped it into a nearby bucket. It looked like water, though the smell told me it was anything but. I couldn't identify it, but it was the same odd scent I had been smelling since he brought me here.

The Alpha approached me slowly. He had a dark look in his eyes. The same look I had become all too familiar with. The whip he was holding was dripping with the mysterious liquid.

I was even more vulnerable like this. I couldn't even guard my stomach with my arms. The baby was completely exposed. I wasn't showing at this point, so the Alpha hadn't figured out that I was pregnant. I was grateful for this.

He circled me, whip still in hand. My body tensed. I felt like prey that was being sized up by my predator.

I suppose that was accurate.

With a loud crack, the whip sliced across my back. I cried out in pain. I tried to keep the tears from falling. To minimize any appearance of weakness. But after the second crack of the whip, it was no use. My tears streamed down my face as I gritted my teeth and squeezed my eyes shut. I could feel my blood trickling down my body from the lashes. The Alpha chuckled.

"You deserve this. You disgusting piece of filth," he spat at me. I cried more at his words as he created more lashes across my body. I am disgusting. I don't deserve Jackson. I'm not worthy enough to carry his child.

A thin sheen of sweat covered my body as well as the blood from my wounds. My head hung low as he continued his assault. I saw my blood beginning to drip from my feet to the stone floor. I had lost count of the amount of lashes I received from the whip, but they still continued. The pain was unbearable. I began drifting in and out of consciousness.

With every crack, my eyes closed, and I saw him.

The boy. The boy I had dreamt of before.

He had the same curly brown hair, and grey eyes.

Another lash.

We were in the meadow again. He was smiling in front of me as I knelt before him.

Another lash.

I had tears falling here too. The child wiped them away. He turned, and picked a flower.

Another lash.

He placed the flower in my hair, just above my ear. I smiled at him.

Another lash.

The child began running, and looking back at me, giggling. I chased him playfully.

Another lash.

It felt so freeing to run with this child in the meadow. I'm free here. I'm safe. Nothing is trying to harm me.

I was brought back to reality momentarily as my body crashed to the cold, stone floor. Through my blurry vision, I could barely see the Alpha walk toward the bucket. He lifted it, walked toward me, and soaked my body with it. It  burned the many wounds that covered my body. I screamed out from the pain. He left me as I lie on the cold floor, in a pool of my own blood. I was relieved to be rid of his presence. Even if it was for a short time.

As I lie on the floor, my body burning, I saw him again. It was almost as if he was calling out to me. Beckoning me to follow him. I reached out to the child, and everything faded to darkness.
