6 Months Later
Benjamin
"Are you ready?" Luca asked me as he took my hands in his own. I smiled and nodded in response.
Today was mine and Jackson's wedding day. It was a small wedding. Not because everyone in the pack wasn't welcome, but more because they feared even speaking our names; let alone showing up to our wedding. The fifty or so that showed up was due to their curiosity of their male Luna overriding their instincts telling them to stay away.
Luca and Liam linked arms, and began their descent down the aisle before me. They had gotten engaged one month previous, and were the definition of head over heels in love. Their love seemed intense, but so passionate and real. Once they reached the end, Liam took his spot beside Jackson, and Luca stood on the other side; where I would soon stand beside him.
Taking a deep breath, I willed myself to step forward. As I walked down the aisle, I looked around at our guests.
Ms. Tallie came, with eight children in tow. It made me smile every time they saw me, yelling "Benji!", their adorable nickname for me. Jackson and I hired a chef and nanny for her, which helped me to sleep better at night. She had wrapped me in a hug for several minutes with tears streaming down her face when I told her. Though she was still a bit unsure of Jackson, she voiced her gratitude to him, as well. I think he was beginning to grow on her. She saw how happy he made me, and how well he took care of me.
Beth sat in the front, with a giggling baby Mason in her arms. I had become somewhat of a third parent for Mason, and I couldn't be happier about that. The little guy was such a joy to all three of us. We all took turns with his midnight feedings, diaper changes, and cuddles. We had mutually agreed it would be best that the pack not know of him as Jackson's son. Jackson did not want to burden him with becoming Alpha once he came of age. So, though Beth and Mason still stayed with us, they would soon move to a home Jackson bought for them. For their safety. I dreaded the day that little Mason and Beth would no longer live with us. I enjoyed their company everyday. But we had to do what's best for them. Mason would not grow up knowing Jackson as his father. But he and I would still support him and his mother in every way possible. Jackson assured Beth she would not want for anything in this life.
We were hesitant about having Mason at the wedding, but no one would have to know he is Jackson's biological son. He could be a cousin or brother to Beth for all they knew.
Vincent sat by Beth, a smile plastered on his face. He had been very supportive toward Jackson and I. Once he realized the extent of what Jackson's father had done, he agreed on the necessity of his death. He hated to lose his friend, but knew Cyrus was corrupted beyond saving.
Joseph and Eleanor also attended. They had recently moved from the guest wing of our home; with the decision that Beth and I were healthy enough to not need them so close anymore. We were all beyond grateful for their help. They had helped me heal back to my normal self, and showed no judgement when they saw the scars on my arms. Beth had healed well from the birth, with their help. They went above and beyond for all of us, staying much longer than they had originally agreed to. The two were truly a selfless pair. Jackson would be sure they were well taken care of, as well.
I smiled at the small amount of pack members who decided to show. Same sex couples were increasing in number since Jackson became Alpha. This only confirmed our theories that Cyrus was doing away with any same sex matings that showed up in his pack. They were free to be with their natural mates now, and Jackson and I were overjoyed to see it.
And then my eyes landed on my mate. My forever that I was currently walking toward. He watched me with a wide smile on his face as I was overcome with emotion by the sight of him. My savior, my love, my Alpha. He had been there for me through everything. He had literally rescued me from pits of hell, and the hands of the devil.
He wore a black suit that fit him perfectly. The muscles on his arms seemed to bulge against the long sleeves, making me want to drool. I wore a white suit, with long, wispy strips of tulle attached to my shoulders, pulling on the ground behind me. He and I also wore the Alpha's and Luna's crowns. Not only was this tradition, but Jackson wanted to further drive the idea that I was Luna to our pack.
Once I reached him, we joined hands as I looked up into his stunning, silver eyes. Mr. Winston, the bakery owner, had agreed to officiate our wedding as he was ordained - much to my surprise. He began to speak.
"Family, friends, thank you for joining us in this wonderful occasion. Today we are here to unite Alpha Jackson, and Luna Benjamin, in marriage." My hands trembled as I held Jackson's, who gently squeezed them with a smile.
"Do you, Benjamin, take Jackson to be your husband, to live together in matrimony, to love him, comfort him, honor and keep him, in sickness and health, in sorrow and joy, to have and to hold, from this day forward, as long as you both shall live?" A single tear fell as I answered with a smile.
"I do."
"Do you, Jackson, take Benjamin to be your husband, to live together in matrimony, to love him, comfort him, honor and keep him, in sickness and health, in sorrow and joy, to have and to hold, from this day forward, as long as you both shall live?" Jackson smiled down at me and responded with his deep voice.
"I do."
Liam handed Jackson my wedding band, and Luca handed me Jackson's.
"A ring is an unbroken circle, with ends that have been joined together, and it represents your union. It is a symbol of infinity, and of your infinite love. When you look at these rings on your hands, be reminded of this moment, your commitment, and the love you now feel for each other. Benjamin, place the ring on Jackson's finger, and repeat after me."
I followed his instructions, sliding the silver band on Jackson's ring finger, and looking up at him.
"Jackson, I give you this ring as a symbol of my love with the pledge - to love you today, tomorrow, always, and forever." Mr. Winston instructed.
"Jackson..." I swallowed the lump in my throat. "I give you this ring as a symbol of my love with the pledge - to love you today, tomorrow, always, and forever."
Mr. Winston repeated the instructions for Jackson, who gently slid the sparkling band onto my slender finger before his low pitched voice reached my ears.
"Benjamin, I give you this ring as a symbol of my love with the pledge - to love you today, tomorrow, always, and forever."
"By the authority vested in me, I now pronounce Alpha Jackson, and Luna Benjamin as married! You may now kiss your spouse," Mr. Winston said before stepping back with a smile on his face.
Jackson stepped forward, and with a hand on the small of my back, and one on my upper back, he dipped me with a kiss. I wrapped my arms around him as our lips connected. My salty tears could be tasted through the kiss, as Jackson's lips moved against my own. Our entire relationship flashed before my eyes.
Meeting in the clearing.
Our first time in Jackson's cabin.
Realizing I was pregnant with his child.
The terrible separation that caused great loss.
Jackson turning the world upside down to get back to me.
His saving me from the grips of death.
Our unity never breaking as we both healed.
He was my forever. My love. My everything.
My Guardian.
