Why are we afraid?

Why are we afraid of falling in love?

Why are we afraid of bearing our hearts to each other ?

Why am I afraid of sending that playlist I made for you?

Why are you afraid of what they will say?

Why are we being nonchalant to each other.

Yet we have so much to say?

We both suck at phone calls and texts

But we expect one of us to randomly call or text someday?

Ironic how we both don't want to reach out first.

Afraid of showing you love because I'll be seen as a simp?

Indirectly saying things to  each other on the internet

Hoping one of us catches the hint?

Having short text conversations so we won't get attached to each other?

We listen to social media standards

But we could secretly do anything for each other

Without even telling each other?

Are we doing all this because we are afraid of the love we share?

Afraid of the judgement we'll face?

Or are we afraid of the people who will choose to stare?

How could we allow them to disturb,

The love only the two of us can have

The online status you shared reads,

"How long will I wait for you?"

You don't have to.
