Time passed by and it was time to pick up Skye from school. I quickly got into the car and started driving to the school.

As soon as I arrived I found a place to park the car, then I waited for Skye. I looked around to see if she was coming. Eventually I saw her skipping towards the car in excitement. I wondered what was on her mind.

Skye quickly put her backpack in the back seat, then finally got in the car.

"Dad, I have very exciting stuff to tell you once we get home!" she said as she was buckling her seatbelt.

"Oh okay!" I said to her in reply. After that we immediately drove straight back home.

Once we arrived and went back into the house Skye quickly rushed over to me.

"Dad! Dad! Look!" She put down her back pack and pulled out a gold folder. She opened it up and pulled out a familiar piece of paper. "I got an A+ on my essay. The teacher said it was really well written!" She showed me her essay with the marked up grade and the compliment from her teacher.

"Oh wow that's neat!" I said standing there, folding my arms.

"Oh and they also gave us this at school". She took out another piece of paper from her folder. I wondered what it was. She showed it to me as I began to read the details from it.

After reading a sentence off of it I looked over at Skye with a questioned look on my face. She should know that we don't usually attend social events or anything like that.

"Skye, you know that we don't attend events like this. We need to keep as little interaction with the world as possible." I told her.

She looked at me with a slight frown, "But Dad, I really want to see what one of these are. I know that we usually ignore stuff like this, but I want to see what they are like. How the other people do things out there."

I know my daughter was always curious and always wanting to learn and try out new things, but being with other people was risky. We usually stayed at home avoiding social situations or anything that will flare up my stress and cause my powers to grow out of control.

My immediate answer would have always been no, but I understood what Skye was trying to point out here. She had seen and walked through all sorts of things that she has always been so curious about, and she was tired of being locked away from the world all her life. Supposedly there have been some kids like her throughout history, so I can see how she would bring this up at some random time a little bit. So then, I thought about what she had said.

I sighed and said, "I know how you feel Skye. I know how hard it is when you're living a life like this, and you want to see something different for a change but-"

I was cut off when she looked down and sighed. She knew what I was gonna say. After that I saw her walk towards her room looking down at her feet.

I tried to make her understand that doing stuff like this was dangerous...then again I also didn't want to make her feel hopeless that things would always be the same.

I thought about her flyer again for a moment. Then I decided. I walked towards Skye's room to tell her my decision.

I knocked on her door. There was no response, but I opened the door anyway.

I opened the door to find the mess Skye had in her room. I had told her many times to clean it up, but it turns out, she still hasn't yet. There I saw Skye sitting on her bed, looking down at her feet with the flyer next to her right.

"Hey", I said.

Skye didn't do anything except blink after I spoke.

I walked towards her and kneeled at her left, putting my hand on her shoulder, "I thought about it again, and-"

I paused as she finally looked up at me. I then continued, "Maybe, we can go..."

Her eyes widened and she smiled, "Really? You mean it?"

"Yes. I was thinking about it and maybe I would also be a little curious-"

I was cut off when Skye hugged me. "Thank you. This really means a lot to me."

I looked down at her and smiled. I chuckled a little bit. I was glad that she was happy. I do need to let her see things differently for a change after all.

"Just a few things to clarify before we go", I said. "Just make sure to be as unnoticeable as possible, just skim through it but enjoy it, and don't do things that will make people aware that we are there."

"Don't worry, Dad. I promise." She said. "And don't worry, I'll do my absolute best to make sure that YOU won't go crazy."

"Heh," I said listening to what she had said.

"And please Dad, can you not bite anyone, umm, you get the point?..."

"Don't worry, I'll try my best to keep my sanity and avoid any great waves or anxiety."

She smiled at me, and I smiled back. I was glad that she was happy. Hopefully this would be a great way for her to finally see the world more just like she wants. Though, deep down inside I still worried about going into the public, and hoped nothing bad would happen.
