Skye had collapsed on the ground as she had been hit on the head with that blast.

"SKYE!!" I shouted. I stared in worry as I quickly went closer to her to examine her.

I fell to my knees as I tried to get a response from her. I tried to shake her awake and call her, hoping she was still alive.

"Skye! Skye, can you hear me?! Please wake up! Please!"

A few seconds later she woke up. "Ugh, what happened?"

She got up to her knees and held her head up. Her fingers ran through her hair as I noticed a few strands of her hair turning to gold. Now there were more strands of golden hair on her head than normally.

"Oh no Skye your hair..." I said.

When she heard me she looked at her hair and understood what I said. "Oh my gosh what's happening to me?" She asked frightened.

"I don't know, but let's not worry about it now. We need to go before these guys capture us." I told her.

We both got up after that and began to run as fast as we could, hoping that the army behind us now wouldn't be able to catch up to us as easily.

Skye and I ran. She started to fall behind me as we were running. I looked behind me after a minute and saw that they were catching up to us. I told Skye we needed to run faster. I looked back at her and saw that now her body was transforming to gold. I was worried and knew we needed to help her in some way fast. So we ran.

———

We ran to the point where we reached a dust stormy part of the desert. Our visions were so hazy now that it was hard to find the right path to run. Eventually as we were running Skye fell to the ground. She seemed in a lot of pain. I ran over to her to try to help her out in some way.

"Skye! Oh my gosh are you alright?"

Skye just moaned in tiredness and pain. I didn't know what to do. With standing there not moving the people behind us finally caught up.

Maya said, "Sir, why don't you want to cooperate? All we are trying to do is help you and everyone else out. We aren't going to hurt you or anything! We just need to examine you and your powers so we can get a better understanding of you."

I could tell this lady wasn't intending to do everything for good. I already knew all they wanted was my powers. They'd probably try to do something awful to me anyway.

"Okay look. If you want my powers, I can't give them to you! It's a curse given from the gods! And on top of that, it is designed only to affect me! I can't do anything about it!"

So then Maya and I just kept reasoning to each other. For some reason, she was placing one of her hands behind her back. It looked like she was trying to conceal something. I got suspicious with her so I prepared my powers again just in case.

I tried to ignore her as she was babbling useless words and I was getting tired of it. I turned my back to her as I tried to ignore everything she was saying for a while.

"NOOOO!!" I then heard a shout from behind me. It sounded a lot like,...Skye. At that same moment coincidentally, the dust storm dramatically stopped. What could've happened? I turned around to look at what had happened. Then, I was shocked to see what had just occurred behind my back.
