The next day...
Wow, another day had passed. That was quick wasn't it? Just like all the other days. I woke up and did my usual routine. Skye usually wakes up late on the weekends, and today was the day of the social event, so I went to go wake her up afterwards.
I went to her room and knocked on her door. I opened it and entered the room to find Skye still sleeping peacefully. I went towards her and tapped on her shoulder to wake her up.
"Hey, wake up Skye." I whispered in her ear.
She blinked her eyes as she woke up. She groaned, "Ugh, what time is it?"
I looked at the time then turned back to her, "It's 9:40 to be exact, but remember? Today is the day of that social event you wanted to go to!"
After I said she rubbed her eyes, "Wait, really?"
"Yes?..."
She quickly sat up and said, "Then I better go get ready!" She quickly jumped out of her bed and started her morning routine. I just smiled. What a silly kid. Then I wake out of her room and let her finish getting ready.
I waited for her in the living room while she was getting ready and all that. Once she was done she came down to where I was waiting for her.
"You ready to go?" I asked in a positive tone.
"Yup!" Skye replied.
We stepped outside the house and stepped into the car. I started it and gripped the wheel, which turned to gold. I closed my eyes, took a deep breath and tried to relax. Hopefully I wouldn't do anything terrible in public. If people knew who I was, I'm doomed. Once I dealt with myself, I turned to Skye and smiled at her. She smiled back. Then we started driving.
The entire way there I tried to relax myself and calm my nervousness. Hopefully nothing bad would happen. This is probably the first time we ever do this in our entire lives. I just hoped everything would work out fine and we can just go and leave like we weren't even there.
Later we finally arrived. I looked through the car window to see a big festive setup. Wow, I guess things were pretty more hyped in the outside world. It was hard to believe.
I looked out in nervousness and tried to keep myself together. Then I told Skye that we can go now. Slightly shaking, I stepped out of the car while Skye on the other hand exited as fast as she could. Once we were ready, we started walking towards the place.
As we entered we both started looking around. What I was worried about was if people would notice me in a crowd like this. Probably, probably not, but I really hope nothing bad happens. Just please, not now.
"Dad, this is so cool. Wow, I never knew that things could be so different outside in the world!" Skye exclaimed.
"It sure is sweetheart." I replied.
"Oh Dad look can I go check out what's over there please?" Skye pointed to the right towards something I didn't quite know about very well.
"I guess, but make sure you just slip by to check it out and then come back as soon as you're done."
"Okay!" She started running towards the area she wanted to go.
Afterwards I just stood there waiting for her to come back.
A few seconds later I heard a voice behind me, "Hey! We've been looking all over for you!"
Oh no.
I turned around to see someone random. I had no idea who they were. I just stayed silent starting to panic.
"Hi sir. You know how everyone knows who each other is and has an identity around here right? But for some reason, you do not. You just slip by everywhere you go and hide yourself from others. Why?"
Oh no. Someone knew I existed? What could I have done wrong? I thought people had no idea who I was!
I knew what could've happened if I didn't leave right at that moment, so I tried to escape the situation, "Look, uh, I really need to go now, thank you."
I tried walking away when the person held me back. "No sir, we really need to get your identity. We checked everything and you're the only person around here that doesn't have their name filed down. We need to do that as soon as possible. You can't leave until we do that."
"Look, if I don't go, something really bad could happen just please-"
"He's right." Another person joined the person talking to me. "Just please tell us who you are. We really want to know."
They kept pleading and begging me until I couldn't take it anymore. "LOOK GUYS, THERE IS A REASON I'M NOT KNOWN, SO JUST LEAVE ME ALONE OKAY?!" I yelled.
Almost everyone as far as I could see turned in our direction. Now people were staring at us, but mostly me. Oh no, I needed to escape as soon as possible.
I looked back at the people who confronted me, sighed and began walking away.
"Why don't you want people to know your identity?!" One of them yelled.
"Shut up, guys." I said.
"No, why do you hide yourself so much? I mean why do you shut the world out. WHO ARE YOU?!"
"I SAID SHUT UP!!" I yelled back. I went out of control as I said that and accidentally turned the entire area around me to solid gold.
Everyone backed up and stepped further away. They started to panic and chatter to each other in confusion and wonderment, also staring at me.
My heart started racing and I started to panic. I began to take breaths faster to the point I was hyperventilating. I was sweating, afraid, trembling. I didn't know exactly what to do.
I made up my mind and quickly ran to go get Skye and hurry back home. I went to where she was.
I approached Skye in a firm tone. "Come on Skye we have to go." I told her as I pulled out the golden rope cord I use to hold on to her instead of holding her hand. She grabbed on to it and I ran as much as I could with her.
