POV: Lucy
Tim's hands were exploring every inch of my body as he pressed me against the wall of the bathroom, our lips moving in sync. One hand was firmly on my thigh as we continued to make out, everything else was non existent, all I could feel was him.
I squeezed my eyes shut, continuing to dry my hair, wishing to stop thinking about that moment. The constant loud hum of the hair dryer drowned out the sound of Tim's voice and I was unprepared when he burst into the room.
"You alright, Chen?" Quickly, I spun around, hair dryer in my hand in replace of a weapon.
"Tim! You scared me." I whined, relief soothing the spike of adrenaline his sudden presence gave me. "What's wrong? Is everything alright?"
"That's what I'm asking you, I was shouting for you but you didn't reply." I picked up the slightest hint of worry in his tone.
"Why were you shouting?" I questioned, putting away the hairdryer.
As I turned back round to listen to his answer I realised that he had been shirtless this whole time. I was sure he could see the slightest change in my face as he looked at me quizzically.
"Just wanna talk about what could go down, you ready for anything?"
"Oh yeah don't worry, I'm good." I lied, the news about Rosalind was still circling my brain, as hard as I tried to push it away. Tim moved closer causing me to have to look up to continue our eye-contact. He brought his hand up to my face in a comforting gesture.
"Lucy.." he muttered. His eyes were piercing, they said what I knew he couldn't. My eyes flicked to his lips uncontrollably. His copied but I stepped away, breaking the physical contact and emotional tension building between us.
"We should get some sleep, like you said, anything could happen." Tim looked taken aback by my sudden change but brushed it off and went into the bathroom.
The room was large but cozy, there was a TV, sofa and a large queen sized bed. I made sure to make it known as soon as we entered that I would not sleep anywhere but the bed. When Tim emerged from the bathroom I was already settled in bed. He looked at me, maybe for a moment too long, seemingly studying my face.
"So... do you think the bathtub or the couch?" He joked.
"I think, and hear me out for a sec, this bed looks insanely comfortable and you shouldn't miss out on this once in a life time experience. I mean come feel how soft this thing is. And besides, don't you think as girlfriend and boyfriend we should share the bed. You know, for undercover purposes."
I was too exhausted to fight him on it if he argued, but I hoped that he would agree, I liked when Tim was close.
"Mmm, okay, if you insist." he smirked and climbed into bed. "So how's Chris?"
We both knew why he asked that. I turned to face him and couldn't help but smile, he was perfect.
"We broke up." I stated plainly. "He just wasn't...."
"Wasn't what?"
I was silent for a moment, and then a moment turned into what seemed a lifetime. I contemplated whether to answer with the truth or a lie. When I looked at Tim again his eyes were soft, very different to the usual Tim Bradford stare of disapproval. Before I could reconsider I blurted out the answer.
"You..." I answered softly.
He stared at me for a while, seemingly processing what I had admitted. I had confessed what we had both been feeling, I didn't think he had even considered I might answer truthfully.
The beginning of his reply was interrupted by aggressive knocking on the hotel room door. Tim stood quickly, picking up his handgun from the bedside table. I did the same, standing slightly behind him and to the side as to not catch him in my line of fire.
"Open up you two, plan has changed. We're leaving now." Tim and I shared a look and panic rose in my chest but I chose to ignore it.
"Yeah, one sec." Tim shouted back and hurried around the room to gather his things.
"You trust this?" I whispered so the men outside wouldn't hear.
"God no, but best thing to do is continue as if everything is normal, got it?"
"Yeah.."
When we got outside the hotel we headed to where the guy we were undercover with parked his car. I hesitated a minute, after watching Tim get in the car.
"Get in." the guy ordered at me. I didn't move, this didn't feel right. "Yo, tell your bitch to get in the fucking car." He directed at Tim."Girl come on what you waiting for?" Tim directed at me with a subtle comforting expression and I got in the car.
When I had put my seatbelt on he grabbed my hand and squeezed. "If you ever call my girl a bitch again I will end you." The man was silent and kept driving.
After around 20 minutes of driving the car came to a stop, it was dark outside so I couldn't quite work out where we were.
"Get out." the man ordered and I complied, stepping out the car. Before I could properly take in my surroundings a sharp pain pricked my neck and I fell to the floor, vision blurry until I completely passed out.
A fist connected with my face and my head was pushed forcefully back causing me to regain consciousness. I was in a grimy dimly lit room which looked like it could be part of a warehouse or a storage unit. My hands were bound behind my back with thick ropes and I was sat on a rusting metal chair. I struggled to free them causing the rope dig harshly into my skin. I seethed in pain as one of the men from Hajek's crew punched me again.
"Who the hell are you?" he threatened.
Frantically, I looked around for Tim, hoping that he managed to get away. My eyes scanned the room for any signs he was here but found none. There were bullet holes in the walls that seemed to be months old along with dried blood that plastered parts of the grimy surfaces. All signs of life seemed old. Whoever had been in this chair last clearly didn't survive by the amount of blood that stained the floor where the chair stood.
"What do you mean? You know who I am, what the hell is this?" I questioned innocently. I was fairly certain they knew I was undercover but I had to make sure.
"Cut the act. We know you're cops." He spat the last word with pure disgust.
"Where is he?" I demanded, succeeding to hide my fear.
"Who? Your fake boyfriend? Oh don't worry, he's being taken care of." I tried my best to stay unfazed, but the realisation that Tim might be dead cut deep into my heart.
The man then reached into his pocket a pulled out a pocket knife and pointed it at my neck. I thrashed frantically in the chair, trying to free myself to no avail.
"Now I hope you understand but we are going to have to kill you, can't have you relaying information about our plans. But luckily for you, I'd like to make your death fun."
Before I could react and try to talk my way out of it, he slowly pulled the knife along my chest, causing me to scream as blood ran down my stomach. This continued and I pulled hard on my restraints, desperate to get away.
By this point I had lost so much blood I felt faint, although finally the rope came loose and I pulled my hands free. I used my last remaining strength to forcefully bring my arms to my front, whacking the man in the process. My legs were weak but I stood and tackled him to the ground, landing punch after punch into his face. He blocked a punch and overpowered me, shoving me to the ground, knocking the wind out of me.
We wrestled on the ground until I reached for the knife he had dropped when I tackled him and stabbed his shoulder, causing him to cry out and lose his grip that was pressing on my throat. I threw one last powerful punch at him, knocking him out, and staggered away to the only door in the room.
