POV: Tim

"Come on, Chen." I ordered as Lucy walked up to where Grey and I were talking after roll call.

"You'll be riding with Bradford today." Grey told Lucy as he eyed me skeptically. Perhaps Grey knew more than I thought.

"Thank you, sir." Lucy directed at Grey as he turned to walk away.

"Get the war bags and meet me by the shop."

"On it." she replied and bounded away a little too eagerly.

When Lucy walked into the room, I was leaning against the shop, arms crossed against my chest. She was beaming with a slightly unnatural smile.

"What's wrong with you?" I asked frowning my eyebrows.

"Notice anything?" she asked, glancing down at her duty belt.

"What?"

"Oh come on Tim this is easy."

"What did you do?" I asked, bewildered by her strange behaviour. I glanced back at her duty belt, noticing her taser and gun on the same side. "What? Is this about your duty belt?"

"Yes of course." she stated, frustrated by my lack of care.

"Are you?- Is this a Tim Test? You don't do Tim Tests."

"No of course it's not. It's a Lucy Lesson." she beamed and got in the shop. "And you, Bradford, just failed."

"You're not a boot anymore, you can wear your duty belt how you like." I stated, trying not to admit I failed her dumb test.

"Come on Tim, you have to admit it. We are not even on the streets yet and our dynamic has completely changed. You're more lenient with me than other P2s."

"No I am not." I retorted, glaring at her purposefully.

If she was intent on making this a teachable moment or something, I was going to have to make this shift utter hell just to prove a point. Which to be fair I have done before.

"Alright, Officer Chen, let's go." I stated as I drove us away from the station. As I drove I mentally prepared myself for a horrendous day filled with 'Lucy Lessons' and teachable moments. I was not going to allow her to switch up our dynamic, no matter how cute she was trying to test me.

Dispatch came through on the radio with a possible shop lifting a couple blocks away and I attached us to the call. When I looked over to Lucy she was smiling deviously, like she was about to do something devilishly criminal, which was never a good sign.

"You okay over there?" I questioned curiously, eyeing her suspiciously.

"Of course, Tim." she replied, smirking at me from the passenger seat.

"Spill it." I demanded. She didn't look too pleased at my tone. It was the one I knew she couldn't resist. A mix of commanding and smitten, of course only she would ever experience the slight addition of smitten.

"I just had the greatest idea for a Lucy Lesson." she revealed as she smirked even more.

"That's great!" I responded sarcastically and pulled up in the side of the road where the potential shop lifting was occurring. "Over there." I added, pointing towards a small convenience store across the street. A bright luminescent sign read 'Sammy's Convenience Store' but the LEDs were out on a few of the letters so what it really said was 'my Coin Sore'.

As we approached we noticed a man with a black ski mask pointing a gun at the cashier while another guy in a mask shoved what seemed to be mostly chocolate into a duffle bag.
