"Miss Gomez, Miss Chase," Chiron called. "Please come with me."

Phoenix Gomez nodded her head and followed him, Annabeth close behind. They didn't think to ask any questions, knowing that would get them nowhere.

He brought the two girls to a small, dimly lit office.

There were other people there, Dionysus, Clarisse, and Luke to name a few. The person who surprised Phoenix the most was Grover.

"Now that I have all of you, I'd like to explain the task I have to give," Mr. D said.

Phoenix looked at Grover who stared at a spot on the ground, he looked guilty.

"Because our friend Grover here has failed to complete his most recent tasks I am sending someone with him to help on his next one."

"That's crazy!" Annabeth interrupted. Phoenix gave her a glance knowing she shouldn't be talking that way. "Grover is perfectly capable. Yeah, he messed up once but who cares? Everyone makes mistakes."

"While that might be true we still need to send Grover with someone. This task is important." Chiron assured.

"Okay, so who is going with him?" Annabeth asked, crossing her arms.

"That is Grover's decision," Chiron replied.

Grover looked up at Chiron, back into focus.

"Grover," Chiron said, letting Grover know it was time to pick.

He looked at each person, examining them carefully. Once he had done this twice he made his decision.

"Phoenix," Grover said.

Phoenix looked at Chiron.

"Miss Gomez, would you like to go on this task?"

"Yes sir." She nodded, knowing that she didn't have a choice.

"Okay, good."

Mr. D pushed everyone else out and sent them back to their cabins.

"So what is our task?" Phoenix asked.

"Please sit," Chiron said referencing to the desk.

Phoenix and Grover sat in the two chairs across from Chiron.

"There is this young boy, his name is Percy Jackson, he is a demi-god," Chiron explained. "Your mission is to bring him to Camp Half-Blood."

"That sounds easy," Phoenix replied.

"Things may sound easier than they truly are," Chiron told me. "The problem is that monsters of all kinds are beginning to find him."

"So we have to keep him safe and bring him back to camp?" Grover asked.

"Exactly," Mr. D said. "I knew this one would get the hang of it."

He didn't.

"There's more, you need to become his friend and gain his trust, so he'll believe you."

"Okay," Phoenix nodded. "I'm great at making friends."

She wasn't.

"I will be there to make sure things run smoothly but you two are in full control."

"Okay," Grover also nodded. "Where are we going?"

"It's a boarding school called Yancy. You two leave tomorrow after lunch so don't forget to pack, you are excused."

The two left the building and began to walk.

"Why'd you pick me?" The girl asked.

"Hm?"
