The next few days were torture, just like Tantalus wanted.

First there was Tyson moving into the Poseidon cabin, giggling to himself every fifteen seconds and saying, "Percy is my brother?" like he'd just won the lottery.

"Aw, Tyson," Phoenix would say.

"It's not that simple," Percy would add.

But there was no explaining it to him. He was in heaven. And Percy ... as much as he liked the big guy, he couldn't help feeling embarrassed. Ashamed. And it pissed off Phoenix.

"He's not my real brother!" Percy protested whenever Tyson wasn't around. "He's more like a half brother on the monstrous side of the family. Like ... a half-brother twice removed, or something," He said once.

Phoenix shook her head and walked to a different area. Percy, of course didn't understand.

Phoenix couldn't help but feel annoyed at Percy. She knew what if felt like to feel different from her siblings. It's even worse coming from a parent, but Percy would never understand that. He had never had to deal with his mother being afraid of him. And that was exactly how he was treating Tyson, just for popularity.

Annabeth didn't like choosing sides between people she liked so she tried to cheer up both Percy and Phoenix. Which made Phoenix more annoyed. Percy shouldn't have a reason to be upset.

The Apollo cabin decided to place Phoenix in charge of the chariot design. She might as well should've been the cabin leader.

She decided to work with Percy, Annabeth, and Tyson even though she was only there to enjoy Tyson's presence.

One morning when Tyson wasn't working with the three, some jokers from Aphrodite's cabin walked by and asked Percy if he needed to borrow some eyeliner for his eye ... "Oh sorry, eyes."

As they walked away laughing, Annabeth grumbled, "Just ignore them, Percy. It isn't your fault you have a monster for a brother."

"He's not my brother!" Percy snapped.

Phoenix set down the golden wheel she was working on and looked at Percy, "Honestly Percy, what is the matter with you?"

"Wait what?" Percy asked.

"Do you even understand how Tyson is feeling? With the entire camp bullying him. And guess who makes it ten times worse Percy?" She paused and glared at him. "You. Fucking you Percy."

"Phoenix-"

"I'm not done-"

"I don't care, tell me what I even did wrong."

Phoenix laughed. "You don't know?"

"Clearly," Percy replied. "Also, I do know how he feels to be an outcast, it was a half-blood in a mortal school!"

"Then I guess I should be asking if you care? Do you care that Tyson is being made fun of for being different?"

Percy was silent.

"Right," Phoenix nodded. "I didn't think you'd be like this Jackson. I guess I was wrong."

Phoenix turned to walk away.

"Sunshine wait!" Percy said grabbing her arm to stop her.

She shook off his grip and turned to Annabeth. "And you Annabeth! Calling him a monster?"

Annabeth raised her eyebrows. "Hey, don't get mad at me technically, he is a monster."

Phoenix's eyes grew teary, "don't talk to me until you grow a heart." She left the two by themselves and walked up to her cabin with tears running down her face.
