━━━━ roleplaying is a popular aspect within the warriors fandom: and can be found everywhere.
roleplaying, for those who may not be sure on what it is is, is where you and one other person or a group of people, come together and write out a story. you control characters that you own, be it one, or more, and interact with your peers as the plot unfolds.
when it comes to roleplay, there are four categories:
━━ fandom ,
━━ group ,
━━ original ,
━━ individual / one on one ,now, roleplays are a little similar to fanfictions. and what i mean by that is there is a lot of planning and plotting for characters, development and the general idea as a whole.
how do you create a good roleplay, you may ask?
there's no right or wrong for roleplays. everyone on wattpad, and elsewhere, does it differently. but the following are few helpful pointers to follow and tick off as you go along with its creation:
━━ whats the roleplay about?
━━ who is the target audience?
━━ what clans are included? rogues? loners?
━━ where does it take place?
━━ when does it take place?
━━ will you have rules?
━━ will you have forms?
━━ is it aimed for new / experienced people?creating a roleplay is an exhilarating experience: you get to dive right in and build a whole new world that you and others can immerse yourself within. you get to form your own layout for said roleplay, build on your characters, and learn from others throughout the whole process.
roleplay creation takes a lot of time and patience. people imagine that their roleplay will kick off from the moment that they publish the teaser, and that, unfortunately, isn't the case. it takes time for it to gain reach, climb the hashtags, and for it to then be discovered by others — but there's plenty of things that you, the creator, can do to spread the word.
what you need for any basic roleplay is a plot. if you yourself do not like the plot, then the likelihood of others disliking it as well is high. there is a lot of trial and error within roleplaying — finding what people like and dislike, the lengths you can go regarding your plotting or originality with roles and clans, and all must be thought upon.
you have to be committed to your roleplay. if you don't want to do it anymore, there will be no point in you keeping it up. if you're unhappy with it, then it's likely others may be too.
i have had my fair share in making roleplays and watching others make them. i've done a wide spread of roleplays, from warriors, humans, dogs, and wild animals — all of which where learning curves for me.
and from that i've learnt that plot—heavy roleplays, while they may be great, tend to not do as well in comparison to others where roleplays get to pick the path they want for their characters. plot—heavy roleplays can be very restrictive, and don't always suit specific scenarios.
roleplaying isn't always about prophecies, lengthy and well—thought out plots. the point of them is to slow others to have fun and grow their characters, and allowing them to explore this world they are in with their own plots and storylines.
━━━━ the layout of your roleplay isn't a life or death situation — but having a tidy looking roleplay can be very rewarding. it allows for easy navigation, if it's big, and can help with the general aesthetic of the roleplay as a whole.
the list below is what i go by in my warrior roleplays, so all of them tend to look very similar. this is just a style in which i've adopted, i think looks nice, and i enjoy using.
━━ teaser ,
━━ rules ,
━━ playlist ,
━━ information pages ,
━━ history ,
━━ clan information ,
━━ forms ,
━━ my characters ,
━━ out of character page ,
━━ roleplay pages ,this doesn't mean you have to have every tab, as not every two roleplays are the same. everyone has their own style with their layout: what they like to add, what they don't like to add, and how they decorate it all.
━━ have some form of plot ,
━━ know your target audience ,
━━ be committed to the roleplay ,
━━ be patient with its growth ,
━━ give your peers some freedom ,
━━ enjoy development ,
━━ enjoy world—building ,
━━ have fun with it all ,
