I'll Take My Chances

Today was the day you bought Jethro and the team lunch. This was a weekly thing which the whole team enjoyed. But this time, as you walked into the bullpen, you weren't met with Jethro at his desk. Tony quickly made his way over to you, offering to help you with the bags of food. Ziva was quick to follow along with Tim.
"Gibbs is in a meeting" Tony says to you. "He's not going to be overly happy when its over, just a warning" He adds before sitting down at his desk with the food you had bought for him.
"That's fine, thank you Tony" You say, placing Jethro's food on his desk before sitting down on his chair.
"I said he wasn't going to be overly happen when the meetings over- I don't think its safe for you to sit there" Tony says, he knew how nasty Gibbs got on a bad day.
"I'll take my chances, thanks for the concern Tony" You reply blatantly.

Sure enough when Jethro's meeting was finally over, it was visibly clear that he was frustrated. Actually he was more than frustrated, he was fuming.
"Don't say I didn't warn you" Tony says to you, ducking slightly behind his desk. Jethro marched angrily towards his desk, his eyes following his feet. It wasn't until he was right in front of you that he looked up. His anger suddenly faded, a soft smile appearing.
"Hello sweetheart" Jethro says, pressing a light kiss to your cheek. "I forgot you were coming today, sorry for not being here when you arrived" He picks up the containers of food on his desk.
"Oh it's fine, Tony was just telling me about how it wasn't safe to sit in your chair" You say, you had to dob him in. Tony's face goes red. Jethro turns to look at him.
"Is that right DiNozzo? You do know there is a difference between a team member and my wife? She can sit at my desk" He was so intimidating to his workers.
"R-right boss, sorry" Tony quickly responds. You smile, making Tony scared and uncomfortable was the best feeling. Well after he had continuously hit on you during the early stages of your relationship with Jethro, it was very deserved. "I guess I'll see you at home" You say, standing up. Jethro presses a quick kiss to your lips before you walk out of the bullpen. "See you guys later, don't be home too late Jethro" You call out.

It was nearly 6:30pm now and Jethro still wasn't home. You knew the case he was working was a hard one. So him staying there longer to try to get further on it didn't bother you. You knew he was dedicated to his work. It was still a mystery if he loved you as much as he loved his job.

You make a start on washing the dishes, figuring that he's going to be late and you don't feel like waiting until tomorrow to do it. You start playing some music and get to washing the dishes. As you swayed away to your favourite artist, you feel someone press themselves up behind you. A faint whisper in you ear lets you know who it is.
"Hunny I'm home" Jethro whispers to you, wrapping his arms around your waist. You lean your head back onto his shoulder.
"Finally" You reply quietly.
"I'll make a start on dinner I guess" He says, pulling away from you and walking towards where your phone is sitting. "And turning this shit off" He adds as he pressing pause on the song currently playing.
"It's not shit! Just because it isn't what you listen to, doesn't mean its shit!" You reply. You did also like what Jethro listened too, but you knew it hurt him when he listened to it.
"Kelly playing piano is much better than whatever your listening to" Jethro says, pulling out some vegetables from the fridge.
"I know your old but sometimes it's good to listen to something different" You tease.
"I'm not that old, you just have bad taste in music" He replies.

I don't know how to continue this! So I'm going to end it there and maybe (probably not) come back to it!
