It took Sam some time to recover from the encounter with John, but eventually he had accepted that John still had to search for the demon on his own. They took on cases that John sent them and now they were at the Big Texas Towing and Salvage yard. Riley was in the back seat, Dean's jacket over her, but she wasn't asleep. As soon as she had a moment to think about everything, she thought again about the demon who claimed to be her father. She still had no idea how to find out if he was telling the truth or not. 'Fire of Unknown Origin' came on the radio and Riley decided it was time to "wake up". She sat up just as Dean put a spoon in the mouth of the sleeping Sam. He grinned and took a photo. Riley giggled, which got Dean's attention. "Hi, sunshine." "Hi." She smiled. He turned up the music, which startled Sam. "A fire of unknown origin took my baby." Dean sang along. Sam noticed the spoon and took it out of his mouth in a panic. Dean drummed on the wheel, grinning. Riley sang along too, but Sam turned the music down and gave them a scolding look.

Dean chuckled when he saw the look on Sam's face. Sam scowled at him. "Ha-ha. Very funny." Dean kept on chuckling and then said, "Sorry. Not a lot of scenery here in East Texas. Kind of have to make your own." "Man, we're not kids anymore, Dean," Sam chided. "We're not gonna start that crap up again." "Start what up?" Dean asked, glancing at Sam. "The prank stuff. It's stupid and it always escalates." Dean grinned. "What's the matter, Sammy? You afraid you're gonna get a little Nair in your shampoo again, huh?" Sam huffed. "All right. Just remember, you started it." "Bring it on, baldy." Riley snickered and leaned in between the two boys. "Leave me out of this, though. One of you two better not be pulling a prank on me." Dean looked at her with a grin. "Scared?" "No, I just know you guys always take things too far. Like Sammy here said, it always escalates." "You should be on my side, I mean, I'm your boyfriend." Dean wiggled his eyebrows and Riley laughed. "No. In this case, I'm Switzerland."

Sam looked around in confusion. "Where are we, anyway?" "A few hours outside of Richardson." Dean replied. "Give me the lowdown again," Dean demanded, glancing at Riley. She took her research and said, "About a month or two ago, a bunch of kids poked their noses into a local haunted house." Dean interrupted, "Haunted by what?" "Apparently by a mysogynistic spirit. Legend has it that the spirit takes women and then hangs them from the rafters with a string. These kids found a woman hanging in the cellar." "Did anyone identify the body?" Sam asked. "Well, this is where things get complicated. When the cops got there, the body was gone. So now the cops think the kids just made it up." "Maybe the cops are right," Dean threw in. "Yeah, maybe," Riley said, putting her research away, while Sam said, "I read a couple of the kids' firsthand accounts. They seem sincere." "Where did you read about these accounts?" asked Riley, who hadn't found anything like that. Sam looked away a little embarrassed, then replied, "I knew we'd be passing through Texas, so last night I surfed some local paranormal websites. And I found one." "And what's it called?" Dean asked. Sam laughed easily. "Hellhoundslair.com." Riley giggled while Dean huffed. "Let me guess. Streaming live out of Mom's basement." Sam chuckled. "Yeah, probably." "Yeah. Most of those websites wouldn't know a ghost if it bit them in the persqueeter."
