Little had I known when he'd left it'd be another two weeks before I'd see flower boy, aka Seamus, again. It was disheartening when he didn't come in at all the following week after learning his name, and even worse when he didn't show up the week after that.

It left me to roam the craft store fixing the faux flower display alone, and wonder what happened to him. My mind came up with billions of places for him to be, and a trillion excuses for his absence.

Until he'd disappeared I had no clue how much I actually paid attention to him. I'd never realized how often I would wait for him to come waltzing in with the same shy yet eager look on his face. Never had I realized how clean the store was when he hung around, especially the flower section.

As I straighten out the flower section I find myself hoping he comes back; my flower boy couldn't just disappear with out letting me know more than his name.

Red.
Blue.
Magenta.
Olive.

These markers have such normal names. Nothing exotic or fun, just obvious by sight. Sighing I return to behind the counter, pulling out a box full of new markers ready to hit the shelves; they all had normal names as well.

A soft ding let's me know a customer has entered the store. I turn to see who it is, surprised when it's flower boy. In his hands he's gripping some sort of mix of flowers and floral tape while a light blush coats his cheeks.

"Welcome back flower boy.", I state turning back toward the shelf to finish sorting out the new markers.

"It's nice to be back craft girl.", he states.

I don't respond, instead I just smile as I keep working. The soft sound of footsteps is heard and then there's a tap on my shoulder. Knowing exactly who it is I turn toward him with an eyebrow raised.

"I missed you.", he states placing something atop my head. I reach up immediately feeling faux flower petals; a flower crown.

"I missed you too, and what's this about?", I ask pointing toward the weave of flowers.

"What did you think I did with all those flowers? Anyway it's a present, a sorry I've been too busy to come and be star customer present.", he states grinning.

I can't help but let out a small laugh at his words.

"Well thank you, and it's nice to see you again star customer.", I state watching as he makes his way back to the back where the flowers are again.

Still smiling I make my way back to my place behind the counter so I can figure out what the inventory looked like before I started unloading anymore stuff. As I work I feel eyes on me, but glance up to see Seamus still looking at flowers.

"Hey flower boy?", I ask giving up on working. He looks over at me questioningly as I try to plan out my next words.

"Yeah?"

"Just thought I'd say this store looks a whole lot better with you hanging around."

"Thanks.", he chuckles.

Slowly he rises from his kneeling position pausing to wipe off his jeans before making his way to the counter. He drops a pile of fake flowers onto the counter while I watch him, my curiosity getting the better of me.

"Where did you go?"

"I got really busy with work and had no time."

"What do you do for a living?" I ask hoping I wasn't being too intrusive.

"Um I work for a company called The Creatures and uh we make content and put it on YouTube.", flower boy states sounding unsure of himself.

"That sounds pretty cool.", I say handing him a bag with all his supplies. Seamus smiles a look of relief washing over his face.

"Really."

"Yes it sounds cool."

"No as cool as working in a craft store.", he states, muttering something I don't quite catch afterword.

"True.", I agree.

"Well I hate to cut our conversation, but I really have to go.", he states.

I watch helpless as he collects his bag, wishing he could stay for just a little longer. I enjoyed talking to him, and it meant I wasn't alone.

"Okay I'll see you later flower boy.", I force out.

"You can bet your ass you will craft girl.", he says waving before disappearing out the door while I emit a soft laugh while kicking myself for not getting him to stay.
