The grandeur of the royal event enveloped the ballroom, a symphony of elegance and opulence.

Yuna, adorned in a striking short dress, engaged in lively conversation with her friend Nayeon. As the night unfolded, an unexpected encounter awaited her.

Nayeon, being called by her parents to attend some guests, excused herself, leaving Yuna momentarily alone.

Seizing the opportunity, Yuna decided to explore the exquisite venue. Little did she know, her path was about to intersect with someone from her past.

As Yuna gracefully navigated through the crowd, she felt a forceful collision.

The contents of a glass spilled onto her dress, and an unapologetic voice reached her ears. "Watch where you're going."

Yuna, momentarily taken aback, looked up to find Kim Hongjoong, his gaze tilted in arrogance. Her eyebrows raised, and she scoffed, "Typical."

He smirked, a hint of challenge in his eyes. "Oh?It's been a while, Cho Yuna."

Yuna tilted her head, a sardonic smile playing on her lips. "Not long enough, Kim Hongjoong. Watch yourself."

"You're the one who should watch herself, princess."

Yuna, undeterred by the collision, shot back with a gaze equally filled with arrogance.

"Watch myself? I don't take orders from the likes of you."

Hongjoong chuckled, a low and mocking sound. "Haven't changed a bit, have you? Still pretending to be untouchable."

Yuna's eyes narrowed, a spark of defiance gleaming. "You're hardly worth my attention, Hongjoong."

He leaned in, his words dripping with calculated arrogance. "Yet, here you are, soaked in my drink. Looks like I've captured your attention after all."

Yuna's jaw clenched, and she retorted, "This is nothing more than a temporary inconvenience. I won't let your petty actions ruin my night."

Hongjoong's smirk widened, the challenge evident. "We'll see about that, Cho Yuna."

As their verbal sparring continued, a subtle tension hung in the air.

The last time they clashed like this was during their high school days, a memory that lingered over the passing of four to five years.

The echoes of a turbulent past added an extra layer to the charged atmosphere between them.

As Yuna turned on her heels to walk away from the boy, Hongjoong couldn't help but have an amused smile on his face as he watched her go.

The ballroom, unaware of the intricate history woven into this encounter, continued its celebration, leaving Yuna and Hongjoong in a dance of words and unspoken rivalry.
