In the quiet of her home, Yuna retreated to the kitchen, the lingering echoes of the recent conversation with her mother still resonating in her mind. Pouring herself a glass of juice, a familiar voice interrupted her thoughts.
"Can you pour me one too?" It was her dad, his presence a comforting anchor.
She nodded, pouring a second glass and handing it to him. As Yuna took a sip, her dad's gaze met hers, a silent inquiry lingering in his eyes. "Does he make you happy?" he asked, his tone gentle.
Yuna paused, contemplating the question. A smile danced on her lips, and she replied, "Yes, very. Happier than I've ever been."
Her dad, a warmth in his eyes, ruffled her hair affectionately. "Our little Yuna is all grown up now. I'm glad you have him."
Her smile remained, but a shadow crossed her face as she mentioned, "But, Dad, Mom..."
He reassured her, "It's okay, I'll handle her. She'll come around eventually." Taking a sip of his juice, he added, "I hope so."
Yuna sighed, her anxiety tempered by her dad's understanding. "Me too."
Changing the subject, her dad suggested, "How about you go to the banquet of Nayeon's sister's wedding and manage the decorations with her? It's been a while since you saw her, right?"
A subtle but genuine relief washed over Yuna. "Yeah, I'd like that," she replied, the prospect of a different focus momentarily easing the weight on her shoulders.
