In the coming weeks, Izuku got more and more comfortable with the pack. His favorite person to spend time with, outside of Katsuki, was Kirishima. The two got along so well, it was enough to make Katsuki jealous. Izuku always looked so calm around Kiri, always laughing at the others' antics. Plus, Kirishima was so much better with Inki than Katsuki was.
It wasn’t shocking when Katsuki announced to the pack he was going to court Izuku. In fact, they volunteered to help if they could.
That night was the first time he did anything about it. Kirishima and Mina had already volunteered to watch Inki, who was growing more and more fond of the pack. Katsuki felt himself grow nervous as he approached the omega’s door. He had already left a few gifts at this doorway, nothing much. A bracelet, a shirt, a pair of pants, and most recently, a rattle for Inki.
Now, he was all dressed up. Mina had picked his outfit for him. A pair of black slacks, black button up shirt rolled at the forearms, hair gelled up. He had a bouquet of flowers in his hand as he approached the door.
He knocked on the door, heart fluttering in anxiety and he, for a moment, considered turning around and retreating back to his room. Like some schoolboy embarrassed about talking to his crush.
Before he had a chance, the door swung open to reveal Izuku. He looked gorgeous, long green hair damp from a recent shower. One of Katsuki’s shirts hung loosely on his shoulders, hiding the now 4-month baby bump. He could see Inki inside, laying on the bed and playing with the rattle Katsuki had gotten him. Pride bubbled up in his chest.
“Kacchan? What is it?” Izuku asked, looking up at him.
“These are for you.” He held out the bouquet, smiling. “I wanted to ask if you would, um, go on a date with me? Right now? Please?” He said, anxiety seeping into his expression.
“Oh, um.” Izuku looked shocked, eyes growing wide and hand reaching out to take the bouquet. “Y-yeah, sure. I’d love to.”
“Yeah?” Katsuki repeated, almost shocked.
“Yeah. Let me get ready. Will you watch Inki?” Izuku asked, opening the door wider.
“Sure, of course.” He nodded and walked over to the bed. Inki laughed as he approached, throwing the rattle and reaching his hands up at Katsuki. “Hey, little man.” He laughed and lifted the child, kissing his head. “Taking care of your mama for me?” He asked, watching as Izuku closed the bathroom door with a smile. “Hey, I know you can’t exactly respond, but is it okay if I date him?” He asked the child, who smiled up at him. “I’ll take care of him, and you, I promise.”
Inki giggled and grabbed Katsuki’s nose, eyes as big as Izuku’s were. He heard the bathroom door open, but didn’t look away from the child. The infant babbled on as Izuku got closer, laughing at him.
“Ma ma!” He yelled out, laughing.
“Oh my god.” Izuku said softly, tears brimming his eyes. “That was his first word. Oh my god, Katsuki!” The omega jumped up onto his knees behind the alpha and leaned his chin on his shoulder. “He said mama!”
Katsuki couldn’t help but stare lovingly at the baby. He had him wrapped so far around his finger it was ridiculous.
“Yeah, that’s your mama isn’t it?” He said happily, ticking the child's belly.
“Mama!” Inki cheered, reaching for the man behind him. Izuku lifted the infant out of Katsuki’s grasp.
“Hi baby. Yeah, I’m mama. I love you, sweetheart.” Izuku cooed, kissing the baby's cheeks. “Good boy, Inki.”
“As much as I would love to stay with you two, we have reservations.” Katsuki said, standing. Now that he got to really look at Izuku, he looked really good. Blue slacks and the white shirt he had gotten him. They were slightly tighter so his belly stuck out clearly. He was wearing the gold bracelet he had gotten him as well. “Kirishima and Mina are watching Inki all night. They have my number if they need anything, but they are great with children.” He explained, placing a hand on Izuku’s lower back and leading him out of the room and down the stairs.
Mina and Kirishima were sitting on the couch, the latter immediately reaching out his arms when he saw Izuku and Inki approach.
“Baby time!” He cheered, taking the infant. Inki immediately began to laugh at the beta’s actions, grabbing at his spiky red hair.
“Thank you guys for watching him, seriously.” Izuku said, smiling.
“Of course, hun. He needs to get the chance to be spoiled by Auntie Mina and Uncle Kiri.” Mina said, winking at Katsuki. “We’ll have him until the morning. You guys have a great date night.”
“Thank you again!” Izuku said happily, waving at them.
“Alright, Kacchan, where to?” Izuku asked, looking up at the alpha.
“First, dinner. Then I’m going to show you my favorite park, and then back home.” He said.
“That sounds wonderful.” Izuku nodded and allows Katsuki to open the door for him, before the alpha ran around to the other side of the car. He turned it on and peeled out of the driveway, heading down the roads Izuku had never seen before.
They approached one of the nicest restaurants Katsuki could get reservations at.
He could see Izuku straining his neck to see the top of the building and smiled. He could spoil the omega forever and still never get tired of these reactions.
Inside the building, after Katsuki handed his keys to the valet, they were immediately whisked off by a hostess. Katsuki rested his hand on Izuku’s lower back as they walked, a small smile sitting on his features. Katsuki Bakugou was smiling .
They were led to a private room, with large potted plants lining the walls and candles lit all around.
“Whoa.” He heard Izuku whisper from beside him. “This place is beautiful.”
“Only the best.” Katsuki said, gently nudging him towards the table. They sat.
That night definitely took the top spot of Katsuki’s favorite memories.
It got even better when they returned home. It was late, and Inki was likely already asleep in Mina and Kirishima’s room, so they had the night to themselves. Katsuki followed Izuku up the stairs, expecting to turn down the hall that led to the guest rooms. Instead, Izuku took a right at the top of the stairs, walking right to the end of the hall and touching the doorknob. Katsuki stood like an idiot at the stairs, hand hovering over the railing.
“Well?” Izuku asked, head tilting to the side. “Aren’t you coming?”
Omega. Omega in his den. Omega willingly going into his den.
His alpha roared as he walked faster than he even had down the hall. He opened the door himself, leading Izuku in, and shutting the door.
His room wasn’t anything special. Big dark bed in the center of the room, long black curtains covering the windows, a desk in the corner. A big bathroom broke off to the side, door slightly cracked open. The closet was mostly empty, Katsuki wasn’t one to care about having a lot of clothes. He had secretly started to hope Izuku’s clothes would eventually go in there, but that was not for right now.
He watched from the corner as Izuku moved around the room, feeling the walls, glancing into the bathroom, running his hands over Katsuki’s hanging shirts, moving the curtains aside to look out the window. He tracked every movement with his eyes, watching with anticipation to what he thought.
“So?” Katsuki asked, eyes shining with hope.
“Aww, Kacchan.” Izuku stuck his lip out, walking over and wrapping his arms around Katsuki’s middle. “I love your den, alpha.”
