MINJI (JIMIN + YEJI) DYE
THEIR HAIR TOGETHER.───────────────
"Could you be any slower?"
"I'm looking for the right color, asshole!"
Yeji tapped her foot impatiently as she waited for Jimin to pick out what hair dye he wanted. It want nearly twelve at night, and after a long discussion, they decided they wanted to dye their hair together.
They were both dressed in oversized pants, sweatshirts, and sunglasses. Yeji tied her hair back and threw her hood on. They couldn't have looked more stupid if they tried.
Suddenly, Yeji heard her phone ding. Her heart dropped as she searched her pants pockets, trying to find her phone. Once she felt her fingers touch the tiny black rectangle, she grabbed it out, looking to see what the notification was.
When she saw it was their manager, her heart practically stopped.
"Jim- I mean, you dingbat! You've taken ten minutes standing here!" Yeji grabbed Jimin by the arm, hoisting him up off the floor. She grabbed another orange colored hair dye and ran over to the counter, setting everything down.
"Hey, I don't want to be ginger!" He complained, watching as the cashier rung everything up.
Yeji rolled her eyes. "Too late. You were wasting my time."
Once the cashier rung everything up, the two casually walked out of the store. Once they hit the fresh air of the outdoors, Yeji began booking it down the street.
"Yah! Whats the rush?" Jimin called out, still walking slower than a snail.
"Manager Min is on our ass! He just texted me while you were taking your sweet time!" She yelled back. Suddenly, she heard loud footsteps behind her. It was Jimin, and now, he was running faster than she was.
Once they got back to their dorm, they nearly fell over. As Yeji leaned against the door, she finally got a chance to read what the message had said.
MANAGER MIN: Inkigayo stage for 'I Need U' on Tuesday. Remind the guys.
She glared at the text message, realizing he hadn't suspected anything from them.
"What are you two up to?" A voice called out. Yoongi appeared around the corner with messy hair and squinted eyes. It was apparent that he had just woke up.
"We're dyeing our hair," Jimin blurted out, holding up the bag. Yeji side eyed him before quickly socking him in the stomach. He let out a groan as he hunched over, clutching him stomach.
"Right before promotions start?" He said, looking at both of them. Then, he shrugged. "Good luck. Don't stain the bathroom sink." And with that, he walked away.
Yeji and Jimin made eye contact before scurrying off to the bathroom. They stepped inside and turned on the light before locking the door. Then, they laid their products out.
"Have you dyed your hair before?" Yeji asked, setting the supplies down on the counter.
"I've done it once by myself, so I'm practically a pro," He responded, taking his sweatshirt off to reveal his white tank top underneath. Yeji settled on keeping her old black sweatshirt on in order to dye her hair.
When they realized they needed bowls, Jimin stepped out to grab some. Yeji looked underneath the sink, trying to find gloves. Once she found some, she grabbed four of the rubber ones and set them alongside the other products.
Jimin came back with two bowls and several paper towels. Once they had everything set, they poured the dye into the bowls. Yejis hair was a light pink, and Jimins was blonde.
"So what exactly do we do?" Yeji asked, staring at the dye in the bowl.
"I think we just... Slap it in our hair." He demonstrated by putting on his gloves, then slapping a large portion of the orange dye onto his head. He worked his way from his hairline all the way to the back of his head.
Yeji mirrored him. She grabbed a large portion of the dye then began to rub it into her hair. The pink color turned to a darkish brown immediately.
The mirror was tiny, so every time they tried to look into it at the same time, one would get hair dye on the others forehead. This happened numerous times.
"When they dyed my hair pink, they made me put it up for twenty minutes. Should I do that?" Yeji asked, noticing he had already finished putting the dye into his hair.
He looked at her head then shrugged. "I don't know. They don't put my hair up."
"Obviously," She sighed, rolling her eyes. She settled on just sitting on the toilet lid, letting her dyed hair drip down the back of her sweatshirt. The two sat quietly, yawning every so often.
Now, it was nearly one. They had practice at ten the next morning, so they were doing... Alright on time.
"Do you think manager Min will be mad?" Yeji asked.
Jimin folded his arms, looking at himself in the mirror. "The bigger question is, will Mr. Bang be mad?"
"Eh, he won't care. I think."
Once twenty minutes passed, the two laid their heads over the bathtub, taking turns rinsing their head. The bath water immediately turned orange the second they set their hair in.
At one point, they looked at each other, immediately breaking out into laughter when they saw their transformation.
"You're ginger!" Jimin said, pointing to Yejis hair. She flicked him on the head.
Once they were done rinsing, they grabbed two towels, wrapping their hair up. Their only option after that was to go to bed, which was exactly what they did.
As Yeji unlocked the door to go back to her room, she heard Jimin begin to speak behind her.
"Hey, Yeji. Let me sleep on your floor tonight," He said. She glared at him.
"Why can't you sleep with Taehyung and Jungkook?"
"They snore. Please?" He begged, rubbing his hands together. Finally, she sighed.
"Fine, get in here. But don't stain the damn carpet."
She walked into her room, Jimin following closely behind. She tossed one of her pillows over to him, and he wrapped himself in her house robe. It was significantly shorter than him, but it covered enough of his lower half to be deemed as comfortable.
As for herself, she laid comfortably under her covers, surrounded by several stuffed animals she had collected over the years. They kept her company.
Right as Yeji closed her eyes to finally drift off to sleep, Jimin began to speak again. This time, he was very quiet.
"Yeji?"
"Yeah?" She responded, turning to face him.
"Goodnight!"
A soft smile crept to her face. "Yeah, yeah. Goodnight, Jimin."
