46. Teasing

Taki POV:

It had been nearly one week since my mother got arrested. I felt miserable. I couldn't even bring myself to sleep properly. Every night, I would dream about Shinta's death and my parent's betrayal. It just kept breaking my heart every time, bit by bit, slowly killing me. I was so grateful to have Mitsuha by my side. However, I felt really bad for her as well. I knew I was currently feeling low and was not my usual self. Mitsuha tried her level best to cheer me up.

I was walking in the living room when I suddenly noticed Mitsuha sitting on the sofa while holding something in her hand, singing and grinning, her legs up on the sofa. Feeling curious, I looked down at her hands and my eyes widened. It was a whole packet of chocolate pocky sticks.

I tried to take it from her hands sneakily. However, as if she expected that to happen, Mitsuha moved the packet away from me while laughing. "Tachibana-san! What are you doing here?" She asked with a small smile on her face as she bit one pocky stick while holding it in her mouth.

I moved to the other side, trying to take the packet from her hand. However, as if on cue, Mitsuha moved her hand to the other side. "So slow Tachibana-san." She said while winking at me. I moved to the other side, trying to grab the packet again, however, Mitsuha quickly pulled out another pocky stick from the packet and put it in her mouth before holding the packet with both her hands, a smirk spreading across her face while I just looked at her angrily.

That was it. I had enough. I placed one hand on the sofa seat and the other on the pillow before leaning forward towards Mitsuha, covering my mouth with hers. Mitsuha seemed stunned, as if she didn't expect this turn of events and dropped the packet. I bit the two pocky sticks in Mitsuha's mouth before I swiftly picked up the whole packet and walked away, a feeling of triumph evading my heart.

"It's delicious." I said I happily pulled out another pocky from the packet and munched it. "You bastard! Give it back!" Mitsuha shouted as she ran towards me. I quickly spun around and held the packet high in the air, out of her reach. Mitsuha tried to jump up and catch the packet from my hands. "It's mine! Give it back!" Mitsuha said angrily, her whole face red as she kept jumping to take the packet out of my hand. However, she suddenly lost her balance and fell on top of me, while I fell backward, my back slamming against the marble floor. The pocky sticks fell out of the packet and scattered across the floor.

Not even one second passed by when Mitsuha fell on top of me, her lips slamming on mine, making both of us widen our eyes in shock. Mitsuha tried to get up, but I held her waist with one hand and the back of her head with the other, deepening the kiss. Mitsuha seemed slightly stunned with my actions, although she quickly returned the action as she cupped my face.

After a passionate kiss, we both moved away and got up. I stared at her face, which was currently deep crimson, while she kept avoiding my gaze. How cute! I couldn't help but chuckle, making her snap at me. "You idiot! Why are you laughing?!" She shouted, feeling embarrassed. "You're so cute Mitsuha." Mitsuha scoffed and turned away her red face from me, making me chuckle again.

"You owe me a pocky packet." She said and was about to leave, when I grabbed her hand and pulled her back. I wrapped my hands around her waist, back hugging her while burying my face in her neck as I inhaled her intoxicating rose scent. "Okay." I muttered before gently kissed her neck, making her moan as she tilted her neck.

I suddenly stopped and moved away, looking at her face. Mitsuha was looking back at me, her brown eyes dilated as she stared right into my eyes. Wow. You really know how to seduce someone with your eyes, don't you, Mitsuha? I touched her cheek and leaned forward, tenderly kissing those, soft, rosy lips of hers.

I pulled away after a while and smiled at her. Mitsuha blushed as she looked back at me. "Are you hurt?" She asked, making me shake my head. "I'm not so weak." I said, making her smirk. "Yeah right."

"Let's go out today." I said, making her look at me. "I have something to show you." Mitsuha nodded. "Just so you know, if you're taking me out only for a pocky packet, then forget it." I laughed. "It's not that. I wanted to take you out so that you can choose your wedding dress."

Mitsuha stared at me, her face turning pink. "What?" She asked, feeling shocked. "Did you forget we're engaged due to what happened recently?" I teased her. "No, I didn't." She spoke. "Did you decide the date, venue and everything then?" I nodded. "I have a few places shortlisted. But if you have another place in your mind, you can tell me." I said.

"As for the date, I was thinking the end of this month. What do you say?" I asked. "Hell no!" A sudden voice startled us, making us turn around and see Yotsuha. "Yotsuha?" Mitsuha said. "Why not?" She asked. "Onee-chan! I have my exams! Please not this month!" She begged.

"Right. Your exams are till the twelfth of January." Mitsuha said, making me pout slightly. "Then... maybe February would be the best time." She said, making me nod as she leaned against my chest. I smiled and wrapped my arms around her. "Okay then. We'll make it February." I said, making the two sisters smile at me.

"You both look so cute!" Yotsuha said, making Mitsuha blush. "S-shut up! Yotsuha! Go and study for your exams!" "Okay, Mrs. To-be Tachibana." Yotsuha teased, making both of our faces turn red as she walked away. "Pft!" Mitsuha turned around and looked at me, who was trying to control her anger.

"Oh god! Laugh! Laugh all you want!" Mitsuha said angrily and tried to leave. However, I grabbed her hand and pulled her towards me. "You leech! Let go of me!" Mitsuha shouted. "You're asking me to do the impossible." I replied as I wrapped my arms around her waist. Mitsuha sighed as she leaned against my chest, a smile akin to a beautiful sunshine spreading across her lips.
