Guess what!! Idk how many of you have been excited or waiting for this, but imma do a chapter from Walker's view!!  BTW I heard this quote a few minutes ago "I saw Walker down like 6 Oreo's at once" -Aryan Simhadri, I get more attracted to this man every second 😍 WALKER NOT ARYAN!!

I was on my bed, holding an ice pack to my black eye. Leena was mad. She wasn't just mad at Jackson, but she was mad at me for not hitting him back. She watched as I scrolled through my phone, smiling whenever I saw a picture of Elle.

Okay, maybe I did have a lot of photos of her, so what? She's really cute and funny and nice and now I think we might be dating and now I'm rambling.

My phone suddenly started buzzing, and it was Elle.

"If you answer that I will kill you," Leena said.

"Choose your weapon now, then!" I said with a grin, pressing accept. "Hello?"

"Walker?"

"I would hope so, you called me."

"I'm scared."

"What's wrong?"

"Mydadismadaboutwhatjacksondidandi'mnint-"

"Slow down, I can't understand you. What?" I cut her off.

"My dad is mad about what Jackson did and I'm 95% sure he's beating the shit out of him right now."

"Call Noah."

"He turns his phone off at school."

"Okay, call Matthew."

"His phone is dead, I tried."

"Who else can you call?"

"Umm, other than you, nobody."

"911?"

"Walker James Scobell no."

"Okay, okay, jeez." I scratched my neck, trying to think. "Why can't we call 911?"

"Because nothing could be happening down there-" she stopped abruptly.

"What happened?"

"I heard a scream. I hear thuds I gotta go."

"Wait Elle-" she hung up.

"What did she say?" Leena saw my face go white.

"Nothing.." I muttered when Tanner walked in.

"WHATCHA DOIN??" He said, throwing himself at me and Leena who were sitting on my bed. I put out my arms to stop him, but they were battered and bruised, and didn't do too much. "By the way, mom's mad."

"No, duh, Tanner," Leena dragged him off me.

"You're no fun," Tanner huffed.

I texted Leena, I knew she was sitting there, but I didn't want to say anything in front of Tanner. He didn't know, and he didn't need to.

Leena looked at her phone, shoving Tanner off when he tried to look over her shoulder.

"That's what she really said?" Her eyes were huge.

"Yeah."

"God, I hate Jackson, but he didn't deserve that.."

"I know.." I twiddled my thumbs together, shaking at the thought.

"DIDN'T DESERVE WHAT, WALKER?" Tanner jumped at me again, and I shoved him off this time, laughing at his stupid face when he hit the ground. He pouted for a moment, then left.

"I think we should call the cops.." Leena said.

"I don't think so. Elle said don't, and I don't wanna make her upset." I glanced up at her, and Leena was really worried. I knew Elle was practically like a little sister to her, but I didn't know they were that close.

"It's not about making Elle upset, Walker, it's also about her brothers. They could be beaten half to death! If they aren't all ready. And I'll never be able to live with myself if my neighbor dies and I could have stopped it," Leena was shaking hard now, and I could see tears in her eyes. I did the most brotherly thing I could think of.

I hugged her.

And she hugged me back.

We sat there like that for a while.

"It'll be okay, Leena."

"Will it, though?" Leena was crying, I could hear it in her voice. "Will it ever get better, Walker, or will it just get worse?"

"I don't know.."

Later, we were at dinner.

We were quietly eating, not saying much to each other. I quickly finished my spaghetti. "May I be excused?"

My mother glared at me. "Not until you talk to me about what happened to you at school today."

I sighed, and slid back into my seat.

"So, why did Jackson beat you up?"

"Because he thought I did something I didn't do."

"What did he think you did?" She raised an eyebrow, and Leena and Tanner were watching back and forth like a tennis match.

"Something..." I trailed off. My mom didn't know that the neighbors were being abused, and she'd definitely do something. I didn't want her to.

"Walker, answer me."

"I can't tell you."

"Why not?"

"Because I promised someone I wouldn't tell anyone. Can we please drop it?"

"No, we are not just going to 'drop it', you are going to tell me."

"I can't, you're going to do something about it and I don't want you to," I could feel tears welling up in my eyes, a few spilling down my cheeks.

My mom sighed. "Walker, I don't want to invade your privacy, but this could be something serious I need to know. So please tell me."

I just shook my head and buried my face in my hands.

"Fine. Walker, go to your room and give me your phone." I handed her my phone, and walked to my room, tears streaming down my face.

Then I realized something.

All of my text messages with Elle were on there. My mom was gonna figure out.

Oh shit.
