While Kara had been talking with Lex, Lena had followed her parents and Eve into the main living room with a glass of scotch.
"So Lena dear, Kara seems really nice. When are you two going to give me and your father grandchildren?" Lillian watched her daughter near spray her mouthful of scotch everywhere.
"Mom!" Lena wiped her chin. "You do realize that Kara and I aren't together like that, we hardly know each other and if you haven't noticed, neither of us has a male appendage hanging between our legs."
"Could have fooled me with all that chemistry I was seeing between you both and there is such a thing as adoption Lena or better yet, IVF treatment." Lillian leaned into Lionel's side as he stood next to her. "What about you and Lex?" she turned her attention onto Eve next.
"Oh! Lex and I haven't really talked about that." Eve blushed as she sat next to Lena. "I mean we aren't really together either just yet."
Lillian sighed dramatically. "What I would give to hear the tiny patter of feet running around this place again."
"Oh my god mother. I have my whole life ahead of me before I start thinking about giving you grandchildren." Lena finished off her drink when Kara and Lex walked in.
"She's a keeper Lena." Lex said as he nudged Eve over so he could sit. "Like truly. No lies and while you are both still here, why don't you take Kara on a tour of the house. Unless you need to go?"
Lena grabbed Kara's hand and all but dragged her away before her parents could say anymore. "That would be a fantastic idea. Come on Kara."
"But I-" Kara wanted to talk some more but followed Lena up the staircase anyway. "Where are we going?"
"You'll see." Lena took her up to the third floor, out one of the windows and onto the roof. She helped Kara out then sat down. "I used to come up here a lot as a kid."
"It's beautiful." Kara sat and gazed up at the stars in the sky then turned towards Lena to run her thumb over her lip. "What really happened today?"
Lena turned her head away. "I told you, I tripped and hit a door with my face."
Kara moved so that she was sitting in Lena's lap, grabbed her by the chin so she could look her in the eyes. "You and I both know that's not true. Have you forgotten that I am a reporter and it's my job to find out the real story. If you don't want to tell me then that's ok but you don't have to lie to me Lena." She gently kissed her forehead.
Lena closed her eyes and let out a breath. "I'm more than just a bartender who owns a bistro and comes from a wealthy family." Her words came out as a whisper. "I'm not as innocent as you think."
Kara let her chin go so she could wrap her arms around Lena's neck to kiss her. "Neither am I. I've gotten up to lots of shit in my younger days. Even Alex will tell you." She chuckled. "Also I'm not forcing you to tell me anything. You can tell me when you're ready."
Lena nuzzled into Kara's neck. "It's just a lot to explain and I'll tell you everything, I promise. I'd rather not talk about it right now."
Kara nodded. "In time. I can wait. I do have one question for you though." She tilted her head to the side so Lena had more skin to kiss.
Lena stopped her ministrations and looked up. "What do you want to know?"
"What are we?" Kara played with the baby hairs on Lena's neck. "Like are we just friends with benefits or something more?"
Lena slipped her hands under Kara's top. "I would like it if we were more than just friends but it's totally up to you, Kara."
"So I can be your girlfriend because that's what I really want." Kara kissed her nose. "Also the sex is hot as hell with you."
"You can be my girlfriend and I would love to be yours. Also you haven't seen anything yet. I was just getting started." Lena nosed her way up to Kara's ear and licked the shell of it. "There are a million other filthy things that I want to do to you, darling."
Kara let out a whine when Lena nipped on her earlobe. "Then it's settled. I'm officially yours and I can't wait to see what else you have in mind." She pulled Lena into a kiss. "Now where's this mansion tour you were meant to show me?"
"And I'm officially yours too darling." Lena gave her a peck on the lips for good measure. "I'll get there in a bit but there is something that I need to confess to you."
"What is it?"
"Last night after dinner with your parents when I went to throw the trash bag out in the garbage bin, Mon-El slammed me up against it and threatened that if I ever pulled what I did at dinner again, I would be sorry."
"Excuse me but he did what?!" Anger tried to etch its way into Kara's features before Lena smoothed away the crinkle on her forehead with her thumb. "Wait until I get my hands-"
"Easy Kara." Lena massaged her shoulders when she felt her muscles tense. "You won't need to go after him because I already sorted his ass out."
"Oh?" Kara let out a few breaths as she relaxed under Lena's palms. "How?"
"I kicked him in the shin with my boot and elbowed him in the face."
Kara blinked. "Oh wow. He got beat by a girl." She started giggling as Lena lay back against the roof, pulling her down with her. "Mmm, this is nice. Just laying here with my very sexy girlfriend." She listened to Lena's heart beating steadily in her ear.
Lena had one arm behind her head as a pillow and used her free hand to run her fingers through Kara's hair. "He wasn't expecting it, that's for sure and it is nice but..." Lena glanced at her watch noticing that it was starting to get late. "I can give you a tour and then do you wanna just crash here with me for the night, in my old bedroom? It's a bit of a ways home anyway."
Kara moved to sit up. "Yeah I think that's a great idea. We could maybe have breakfast with your family as I don't start till a bit later tomorrow so it works out unless you need to get to the bistro early?" she moved so Lena could stand up.
"Breakfast would be fine. I can get Eve to open up for me. She knows what to do." Lena reached down and pulled Kara to stand. "Come on."
Kara climbed back in the window after her and closed it, making sure the latch was secure then reached for Lena's hand. "Where to first?"
Lena gestured back down the stairs. "How about the library." She glanced into the living room to see that it was just Lex and Eve still up, her parents having gone to bed. "Oh one more thing."
"I'm listening." Kara waved at the pair as they walked past. "It's not bad is it?"
"Depends on how you look at it but don't be too offended if mom asks you when we are going to give her grandchildren once she finds out that we are together now because she already asked me that question earlier."
Kara paused mid step and froze looking wide eyed at Lena before hurrying her into the library.
