The Mafia Head's Little Princess

On the other side, Zhang Liqin was currently being carried away forcefully by Qian Renshu's entourage. Her head throbbed as she dangled over the burly shoulder of one of his men, her body swaying to the motion.

"Qian Renshu, why don't you just leave me alone?!" She screamed, directing her words at the man leading the entourage.

"Young lady, the boss is in a bad mood right now." The man who was carrying Zhang Liqin whispered, his eyes laced with concern, "I suggest you don't provoke him."

"Chang Pu-ge, why don't you let me down?", Zhang Liqin whispered back, "Your boss is at the front of the group, and we're at the back. He wouldn't even notice if you let me go."

Chang Pu, who was carrying her, was a close friend of Zhang Liqin. When she was brought back by Qian Renshu 5 years ago and introduced to the entire gang, Chang Pu had been one of the individuals who helped her adjust to the underworld life.

Back when Zhang Weimin was alive, Chang Pu served as his direct subordinate. The older man had extended numerous acts of kindness to him, even in moments when he didn't need to. In gratitude for the support he received from Zhang Liqin's older brother, Chang Pu regarded Zhang Liqin as his own sister.

At her daring words, the fear in Chang Pu's eyes hinted at the consequences he might face if he defied his boss. "Don't try to fool the boss. He got a pair of eyes watching everywhere, even at the back of his head."

Zhang Liqin sighs helplessly. Right, what did I expect from him?

Regardless of the camaraderie Zhang Liqin shared with many of Qian Renshu's men, they ultimately operated at the beck and call of Qian Renshu himself. No matter how close they were or the amicable relationships Zhang Liqin maintained, when it came down to it, none dared to defy Qian Renshu.

Suspended over Chang Pu's shoulder, Zhang Liqin sensed an abrupt halt in his movements. Curious of what was happening, she craned her head to see the man everyone feared beckoned them to come over. Behind him was an opened car door.

"Throw her in." Qian Renshu's icy gaze commanded, "The rest, disperse."

In response to Qian Renshu's directive, twenty formidable men synchronized in a bow, Their voices, assertive and resounding, declared in unison. "Understood!"

Qian Renshu's gaze moved from their dispersing figures onto Chang Pu, who still stood still with the woman slung over his shoulders. Met with the chilling gaze of his boss caused Chang Pu to break into a cold sweat.

It was as if his gaze was saying, 'You dare to dawdle?'

He quickly walked towards Qian Renshu, who stood imposingly beside the open car door.

"W-wait! Chang Pu-ge—!"

"Sorry, young lady," he muttered, and then promptly tossed her into the waiting car.

Zhang Liqin who was unceremoniously hurled onto the backseat winced in pain, cursing Chang Pu for three generations underneath her breath.

The door slammed shut, engulfing Zhang Liqin in darkness. Moments later, the other side of the car opened, and Qian Renshu slid in beside her. The air grew heavy with tension as he settled into the seat, his icy gaze locking onto Zhang Liqin.

Zhang Liqin averted her gaze in response, pretending as if she didn't see him.

At that moment, the engine roared to life, and she found herself beside a man she wanted to avoid the most in this whole world– a man whose steely presence sent shivers down her spine. Zhang Liqin stole a glance at Qian Renshu, whose expression remained impassive and stoic.
