JISOO.
"Where the hell are you?" Lisa blurted out the moment I picked up my phone. I chuckled at the restlessness in her voice."I'm so sorry, Lisa. We ran into some difficulties and had to emergency land in Bangkok," I replied, trying to sound so sad.
"What the actual fuck?!" Lisa exclaimed and I really laughed out loud.
"I was just kidding, you monkey. I should have recorded your voice. The plane just landed at Incheon," I said, still giggling.
"Unnie, I'm going to really wring your neck when I see you! Don't bail on Jennie and I because you're not even in our wedding!" I laughed again.
"I'm sorry. I'm so sorry. I just want to tease you a little. I'll just go over the security check and immigration then I'll be on my way to Gocheok Sky Dome. You're no fun anymore, Lis," I teased again and Lisa groaned.
"It's not funny!" she whined and I laughed yet again.
"It is and you know it. I'll text you when I'm at the venue. Hey, please make sure that only you and Jennie knows that I'm here, you sneaky monkey. Even Shaffer doesn't know that I suddenly flew halfway across the world for this," I warned. Lisa sighed.
"Yeah, yeah, whatever. Please make sure you'll be there, unnie or else I will really get mad at you!" Lisa threatened and I giggled again.
"I know, I know. See you, hopefully. Byeeeeeeee," I teased and terminated the call. Served her right from the last time we spoke over the phone. I chuckled as I made my way out of the plane, checking my watch. It's just after 4 in the afternoon. I still have plenty of time. The moment I was out of the plane, I took a deep breath, inhaling.
7 long years, Seoul. Aren't you gonna ask me how I'd been?
I chuckled at my own idiocy and made my way to the airport for the security check and immigration. I'm planning on getting some Korean food as well.
Everything went smoothly as I went through all the security checkpoints and the immigration. I was surprised that there was someone at the arrival area holding a card with my name on it. I have to roll my eyes at Lisa's thoroughness. She's not really taking any chances of me escaping at this. She and Jennie are surely cooking up something and right now, half my mind wants to just back out.
"Ms. Kim?" the guy asked the moment I stopped in front of him.
"Yes. Did that idiot, Lisa Manoban, send you?" I asked a little teasingly. He shook his head.
"No, Ma'am. It's Ms. Jennie who sent me. Shall we?" he asked.
"Under no circumstances should you tell Jennie that I called her wife an idiot okay?" The guy laughed, shaking his head.
"Understood, Ms. Kim. This way, please."
"Can we stop somewhere to get some Korean food? I'm starving." He chuckled again and nodded.
"Of course," he answered and started to walk. I followed him to the VIP exit of the airport and he opened the door of the car and I immediately went to it. I leaned my back the moment we started cruising and closed my eyes.
I don't know what to feel now that I'm finally back at the country I tried running away from. It has been 7 years. I never really stayed here because I was based in LA at the time but being back felt like I'm finally home. True to his words, the kind guy stopped at an authentic Korean place and I ordered the food for me so I was munching on the way to the dome, drinking my surroundings in. A lot has changed since the last time I was here. The traffic is starting to build up on the way to the stadium and I rolled my eyes again. It's to be expected since there's an event and I came to realize that Chaeyoung must be a real big shot. I still refrain from checking her on the internet. I guess I just have to see for myself.
