tw: panic attack, abuse

"GRACIE? WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE?" aurora questioned.

gracie was drenched from the rain, her cheeks and eyes stained with tears and her body quivering from the cold. she kept her head down, not responding to aurora.

"gracie?" aurora asked again.

gracie tucked her hair behind her ear, looking up at aurora. "he left me on the side of the road." gracie muttered, tears brewing in her eyes.

auroras stomach dropped. "he what?"

gracie nodded her head in response with a shaky breath. "i walked here." she said softly.

aurora pulled her inside and locked the door behind her. gracie's hair and clothes dripped onto the wooden floor. "it's okay, cie." aurora whispered, pulling gracie into her arms and swaying gently.
"why did this have to happen today!? i have to leave for my show tommorow!" gracie broke down into auroras shoulder.

"shhh, gracie. it's okay." aurora interrupted gracie's anxious rambling, pulling away to face gracie. "everything's gonna be fine, come with me."

aurora led gracie into her bedroom, sitting her on the bed. aurora disappeared into her closet, grabbing gracie fresh clothes and her favourite sweater. "put these on, your cold and wet." aurora said, handing her the clothes.

gracie slowly stood up and headed into the bathroom. while she was gone, aurora paced around the room with anxiety. she wanted to murder hayes. she couldn't believe that even he would leave her best friend, let alone a woman alone on the side of the street at night. so many things could've went wrong.

gracie re-entered the room, wearing the clothes aurora gave her. aurora was sitting in her bed, stroking bentley. "is everything okay?" aurora asked softly. gracie began to break down, trying to suppress her tears by wiping her eyes. aurora reached out her hand. "cie..." gracie took her hand and walked over, falling into aurora's bed and into her arms. aurora held her tightly as she cried into her chest. gracie eventually stopped crying, aurora softly stroking her wet hair.

"this sweater is really comfy." gracie sniffled, describing auroras navy ralph knit sweater.

"it's my favourite." aurora said.

"and it smells really nice in here."

"i lit a candle."

the girls laid in silence for a few moments, gracie still nestled tightly in auroras arms. "i'm really sorry, aurora."

"for what, gracie?"

gracie sat up, leaning on her hand. "for everything i said to you. for yelling at you, for not hearing you out." she apologised.

"it's okay."

"no it's not, i mean you've been my friends for like 20 years, you know me better than anyone."

"gracie, it's okay," aurora assured. "cross my heart." aurora put one hand up to her heart.

"okay." gracie smiled.

"if you don't mind me asking," aurora started.

"yeah?"

"what happened?"

gracie sighed deeply before telling her the whole story.

gracie was at one of hayes' parties. she felt extremely out of place. being around all of these DJ's playing loud techno music. it just wasn't her crowd. hayes was also no where to be found.
