GRACIE WAS STRUGGLING MORE THAN EVER. being without aurora felt like the greatest loss of her entire life. it wasn't just losing her best friend anymore, it was losing her greatest love.

it was hard for gracie to fall in love. it took months for her to feel actually connected to her previous boyfriends, and when she did finally fall for them, it took ages to pick herself up off the floor.

but aurora was different. maybe it was because she had loved her since they were kids, but that was a different love. that was love in a best friend way. gracie loved her in a romantic way. more than that even, and she never got around to telling her.

gracie was truly connected to aurora in a different way than anyone else she had ever been with. she was totally different from the one nights, or blake, she was miles away from hayes, aurora was truly the only person that gracie felt truly bonded to. she was so easy to fall in love with.

she didn't even know how she preformed her second denver show without breaking down infront of seventy thousand people. every word she sang was with aurora in mind, and the only thing keeping her afloat was the fans cheering her on.

she tried to make it look like she was okay, but on the inside, it was absolutely ripping her apart, and hayes was no help at all. gracie didn't really know what she was supposed to expect from him, but a little support would have been nice. his hugs just weren't the same as auroras.

thankfully, olivia was tagging along to seattle, and hayes went back to la. it was olivias first taylor concert after putting their beef behind them, so she was very excited.

while olivia and taylor engaged in conversation, gracie was quiet. ever since last week, she had no energy to do anything. she had been getting almost no sleep which was affecting her ability to do everything. she was expecting the worst this weekend.

——

aurora wasn't doing much better. sleep did not come easy to her either, and she hadn't been leaving the house. jace was starting to worry about her.

she heard a knock on her door, causing her to groan in dissatisfaction. she covered her face with her pillow before slowly getting out of her bed. she did not look presentable at all; a loose braid over her shoulder and yesterdays mascara still on. she walked over to the door as she shrugged off her appearance, expecting it to be jace, but as she pulled open the door, her worst nightmare was leaning up against the wall.

"hi there aurora." hayes smiled with his smug voice.

"what the fuck are you doing here." she replied.

"that's not the way you speak to someone who could ruin your reputation in two seconds." he stepped forward with a firm tone.

aurora straightened her back and looked up at hayes. "you called gracie the other night," he started.

aurora's stomach dropped as she was reminded of it. it was dumb and she knew it, but she couldn't help herself. it wasn't even worth it, because gracie didn't even answer. she didn't know what hayes had told her,  it aurora knew it made her look bad.

"what did i say?" his words were stern and intimidating, causing aurora to freeze. "i thought i told you not to contact her."

aurora swallowed hard as she looked to the floor. she could feel hayes' eyes bore into her. "im... sorry." she muttered.

"remember what i said. if you try and call her, text her, see her, anything, i will fucking come for you. got that?" hayes spat. his voice was like ice, sending a shiver down auroras spine. "if i have to come down here and take precious time out of my day to speak to you, you're over? got that?"
