Namjoon sat at his desk, staring at the blank report in front of him. He couldn't stop thinking about his encounter with Jungkook who had escaped from prison just a week ago.

But as he thought back to their conversation, Namjoon couldn't shake the feeling that the boy was hiding something more. Despite his tough exterior and constant teasing, there was a mischievous glint in Jungkook's eyes that hinted at something deeper.

As Namjoon got out of the hot shower, his phone rang, jolting him out of his thoughts. He quickly wrapped a towel around his waist and answered the call, his hand massaging the back of his wet neck.

'Namjoon, it's X. We've received some information about the Black Rabbits' hideout. I need you to investigate and gather as much information as possible. This is a top priority case so don't waist time,' his superior's voice rang through the phone.

'Yes, sir I know. I'll leave right away,' Namjoon replied, his mind already racing with thoughts on how to approach the situation.

Namjoon was no stranger to the world of criminals and gangs. As a police officer, he had been trained to handle these kinds of situations. It had been 5 years since he had joined the force, and he had never failed a mission.

But this time, it was personal. He had made a deal with Jungkook during their interrogation, because he liked taking risks, promising him protection and a reduced sentence in exchange for information on his gang's activities. Namjoon couldn't let the young boy slip away again, he needed to fulfill his end of the deal.

The thing is, Namjoon wasn't the type to just wait. He was patient, but not when it came to catching criminals. He had to strike the first move.

He quickly got dressed in his police uniform, his hair styled back with some gel. He grabbed his car keys and headed out, stopping at a small cafeteria on the way. He needed a break and some caffeine before he could proceed.

The smell of cinnamon and coffee hit him as soon as he walked in, instantly calming his nerves.
The old granny who ran the place welcomed him with a warm smile, but she stopped when taking in the officer's immaculate appearance.

'Ah, how handsome you are, police officer!' she complimented him, making Namjoon feel a little flustered. He waved a hand, blushing lightly.

She smiled as she served him a cup of strong coffee. Namjoon thanked her and the two of them struck up a conversation, engaging in small talk like 'how's work these days?' They also talked about the current situation in the city and how difficult it was to maintain law and order. The lady was completely captivated by Namjoon's charm, as were the other customers in the cafeteria.

As they chatted, Namjoon couldn't help but notice a young boy near the counter who seemed to be staring at him every now and then.

He adverted his eyes, excusing himself as he started going over all the information he had gathered so far on the Black Rabbits and the ones sent by his superiors just an hour ago.

While sipping on his coffee, Namjoon couldn't help but think about how different he and Jungkook were. One was a police officer, dedicated to upholding the law, and the other was a notorious gang member, constantly breaking it. Everyone was a slave to something.

But in some ways, they were similar. Both were determined and relentless, always willing to do whatever it takes to achieve their goals. This, he came to understand in these years but was there really a goal Jungkook wanted to reach by throwing away his innocence? That, Namjoon couldn't quite grasp yet.

He sipped again from his cup but felt the bartender's insistent gaze on him. Did he look too intimidating with his uniform on?

Namjoon brushed it off, thinking that the boy was probably just curious. As he finished his coffee and was about to leave, he left a generous tip for the granny. 'My boy- this much? We can't accept it!' The old woman protested, but Namjoon shook his head insisting 'It's the bare minimum for your service, please share it with the boy too.'  So he headed towards the exit, absentmindedly rummaging through his papers.

Meanwhile, the bartender tensed up as Namjoon approached him, only to quickly leave the store. Pulling down his mask, the young man let out a sigh of relief.

The old woman chuckled and said, 'Take the tip, Jungkook. How kind of that officer.' she exclaimed. 'Yes, grandma,' Jungkook replied, bow fully revealed with a smirk and his eyes fixated on Namjoon's retreating figure. Jungkook couldn't believe it. The officer was here in his hideout, disguised as a civilian.

Jungkook couldn't help but chuckle, remembering how flustered Namjoon had looked when his grandma complimented him. It was a side of the normally stern and serious officer that he had never seen before. So you can smile like that too- The thought of teasing him about it made Jungkook's mischievous side come alive.

Jungkook couldn't wait to see how Officer Kim would react when he found out he was actually talking to the member of the gang he was supposed to be investigating on. He knew it was risky, but he couldn't resist the chance to see Namjoon's flushed face again. It was a game of cat and mouse, and of course Jungkook was determined to have some fun with it. Little did he know, the officer wad right about to counterattack.

As Namjoon's hands tightened on the steer wheel he rested his head on it, letting out a deep laugh. Then he sighed against his shaking hands, adrenaline rushing through his body.

You forgot to hide your tattoos, Jeon.

He started the car and drove off to the location without calling for any of his colleagues. He could've caught him right on the spot. He was so close but that wasn't going to be just as fun as he needed it to be. To think he was staring so obviously at his direction. Namjoon would've paid to see Jungkook's panicked face under the mask when he entered the cafe. Still, time would play its role too and the new information was going to be quite useful. Knowing he works there might come in hand..

Namjoon had never been behind in this game and Jungkook will soon come to realise it.
