Parking his car at a safe distance, Namjoon put on his long brown coat and lit a cigarette. He didn't want to arouse suspicion, so he made sure to blend in with the surroundings. As he watched the run-down building, he couldn't believe that this was the infamous hideout of the Black Rabbits. It looked like an old abandoned property with its deteriorated walls and old insignias. But Namjoon knew better and was no easy fooled by that.
He smoothly placed some micro spies around the building, making sure to get the best views on his laptop. He then began his investigation of the area. Weeks passed, but there were no signs of any criminal activity at the hideout. Namjoon was growing frustrated and so were his superiors. They needed concrete evidence to take down the gang and they needed it fast.
Finally, one day, Namjoon received a message on his phone from his superiors. It contained all the information and instructions he needed to execute their plan. He jumped up from his couch and made his way to the window. Looking up at the starry sky, he couldn't help but smirk. The secret plan was risky, extremely, but it was finally going to come into action and he couldn't wait to see the look on Jungkook's face when they finally strike their move.
_
Jungkook woke up in his shabby apartment, the sun creeping in through the dirty windows. He let out a groan and rubbed his eyes, his mind still foggy from the alcohol he had consumed the night before. But his hangover was quickly forgotten when he remembered what day it was. Wednesday – the day of the weekly gang meeting at headquarters.
He got out of bed and stumbled towards his closet, throwing on a sleeveless shirt and a leather jacket. He hopped on his black motorbike and rode through the empty streets towards the abandoned household that served as their headquarters.
Jungkook had been a part of this gang for as long as he could remember. He had grown up surrounded by violence and crime, and it was the only life he knew. The gang was no family to him, they were all ruthless and selfish individuals. He occasionally got days off to get involved in a legal job at the cafeteria where the unexpected client showed up only a week ago. It was a way to keep himself grounded to something more human. He owned that to someone really important.
As soon as he parked his motorbike, he made his way to the secret entrance behind the house. The front door was just for show, and the real entrance was hidden. He knocked three times and was let in by one of the guards.
The meeting room was dimly lit, and Jungkook took a seat among the other members. Everyone was engrossed in their own affairs, not bothering to greet each other. They were not friends; they were just business partners.
Suddenly, one of the men spoke up, spitting on the ground. 'You saw that bastard Mr. Kim, right?' Jungkook's foot started tapping impatiently. He didn't want to envision Mr. Kim's face that early in the morning, especially not from those assholes.
'Yeah, he was snooping around last week, placing microchips to track our movements,' another member laughed. 'He thinks he's smart enough to put on the detective show.'
Jungkook felt a pang of irritation at those mocking words. He did not like authority figures, especially those who were trying to bring down his missions but it was undeniable that Mr. Kim was different from the rest, and the fact that they were thinking so lowly of him without even having dealt directly with his intelligence, repulsed Jungkook more than anything else.
Ignorance and arrogance, those he could never stand but he couldn't just punch them in the face with no apparent reason at all, could he?
'I bet I can beat his ass if I show up at his place,' the other man said, his voice full of malice.
That's when something in Jungkook snapped. 'You done there?' he asked, without looking at them. The chubbier man raised his scarred eyebrow. 'What? Don't tell me you didn't want to tear apart his face when he got you in Jeon.'
A smirk formed on Jungkook's lips, and he leaned back in his seat. 'Yeah, such a pity I escaped without having some fun,' he mumbled.
The other man laughed, and Jungkook couldn't help but feel a rush of adrenaline at the thought of taking down Mr. Kim. But that was his own work to do. He had no idea what the police officer was planning from the last time, if he was still getting his hopes on the deal he hastily accepted but Jungkook was sure the policeman would not fail to surprise him. He was also sure he could handle whatever was going to be thrown at him, he was just so eager and ready to get back in action.
Little did he know, something extreme was coming on his way.
