Under the cloak of darkness, Officer Kim Namjoon seamlessly infiltrated the notorious gang that had plagued the city for years. His mission: to gather irrefutable evidence for their eventual downfall. Weeks of meticulous preparation had earned him a coveted spot within their inner circle, granting him intimate access to their insidious operations.

With every meeting, Namjoon would stealthily conceal miniature cameras and diligently scribble down names, locations, and any incriminating detail that eluded the gang members' notice. However, one member remained an enigma—Jungkook, a young and volatile member who seemed to hold a secret that eluded Namjoon's grasp.

The younger possessed a sharp mind and an unwavering loyalty to his gang, but there was a flicker of doubt in his eyes that Namjoon couldn't ignore.

Their last mission together had tested Jungkook's resolve. Namjoon had witnessed the boy's hesitation as he held the gun right to the dealer's temple. In that moment, Jungkook's humanity had shone through the darkness.

But after that fateful task, Jungkook seemed to vanish, his distance like an ice wall between them. Namjoon couldn't blame Jungkook. He understood the implications of the younger man's silence.

And the unexplainable, the strangest and most inappropriate thing is that Namjoon would find himself drawn to Jungkook's presence. As he stared at the younger man, his gaze lingered, its unspoken concern evident even to Jungkook. With each meeting, the younger's body tensed, the muscles in his face tightening as he sensed Namjoon's watchful eyes upon him, silently cussing at the older's boldness.

Whenever Namjoon tried to get close, the younger would walk right pass him. When he closed the door, the younger would've already jumped on his motorbike. There seemed to be no way for him to come to any sort of understanding or collaboration. And he needed that from the younger. He needed to accelerate things in order to put an end to this disgusting game.

That's when, compelled by a mixture of concern and curiosity, Namjoon decided to risk an encounter.

Beneath the silver-drenched tapestry of a Tuesday night, Namjoon lingered outside the dingy cafeteria, a lit cigarette burning in his fingers. He had come to wait for Jungkook's shift to end, resolving to confront the enlarging void between them. As he smoked, his eyes wandered to the interior of the dimly lit establishment, where Jungkook's deft movements were tinged with an air of solitude.

He stepped inside the quiet, dimly lit cafeteria, inhaling the mingled scents of coffee and cleaning fluids. Namjoon's eyes sought Jungkook's, but the younger man seemed to be busy in the back.
