Jang-mi watched as Dino slid open the padlock and entered a few numbers.
"It's my birthday." He says before pulling open the door. "Ready?"
She looks around the front yard before nodding. He grabs her hand and guides her inside. He takes off his shoes and pulls out house slippers for the both of them. As he slides open the door that blocked off the front door and they both walk inside, Jang-mi still seems a bit in shock over everything. It was a one story house, with white walls and brown, wooden floors. Standing in front of them was the living room. There was enough space to fit at least two couches. When she looks to her left, there was a counter that separated the living room and the kitchen.
"Chan..."
He guides her down the hall, past the living room. There were three doors. He opens the one on the left. When they walk in, there was a king sized mattress already inside, with light pink covers and pillows. "This one's yours." She looks up at him. He smiles before walking over to the windows on the other end of the room. He pushes aside the curtains and opens them up. "Make sure these stay closed throughout the night, I don't want anyone sneaking in. If it gets too hot, turn on the AC." She nods. He walks over to the other doors in the room. He points at each of them and begins naming them. "Your own bathroom, closet, and another closet because I know you have a lot of clothes. This one, you can also store your towels and blankets in."
"I can't tell if you're joking or not." She runs her hand through her hair.
He chuckles before guiding her back out of the room and to the other two doors. He opens the door to the left of her room. "This is the guest bathroom, but I don't really care how you use it. It's your house anyway." He walks to the door across from hers and opens it. "Guest room." He smiles. "If Sua wants to come sleep over or if your dad or Seo come over, this is their room. Again, your house, your rules, but please Jang-mi, make sure they clean up after using it."
"Chan, you're kidding, right?" She looks around. "You didn't actually buy this for me, right?"
He sighs before dragging her back into her room. He makes her sit down on the bed before walking over to her nightstand and crouching down. He pulls open the bottom drawer and grabs something out. "You said home is wherever I am, right?" She raises an eyebrow. He places a photo frame on the nightstand. When he moves over to the side, it was a picture of them that they took together at Minjae's sisters wedding. "Now, this is your home."
She shakes her head and looks at the ground. "Chan, I can't-"
He sits down beside her. "You don't have to move in right away." He lifts her head to look at him. "In fact, you can even wait until I get back if that helps, but this is just for days when you wanna getaway."
"I can't." Her eyes begin to water.
"Hey, hey, hey!" He holds her face in his hands. "What's wrong? Talk to me."
"I can't just take this from you. It feels wrong."
"Why?"
"What if somewhere along the way, you decide we're not meant for each other-"
"First of all, why are you thinking like that?" He laughs. "Second, that's not going to happen." He wipes her tears away with his thumbs. "I'm in this forever, okay? And if one day that does happen, which it won't, remember that we were best friends and we still are."
She lets out a deep breath before nodding. "O-okay."
"You okay now?" He asks.
"Yeah, sorry."
"No need to be sorry," he rests his forehead on hers. "It's okay to have worries like those. That's why we talk to each other."
"Too bad you won't be here for two years."
