Presentation Day
"Okay! I'm leaving!" Jang-mi says once she gets to the bottom of the steps.
"Already!?" Seo calls from the kitchen table. "But I made you breakfast!"
"And I love you for that!" She says before opening the door. "Call Nari! I'm sure she'll eat with you."
"No, she's still mad at-" Jang-mi shuts the door on her way out. "Why do I even try being nice to her?"
"Uncle Seo, I think you need friends that are your age." Soo says before continuing to eat his cereal. "How old are you? Thirty?"
"Soo, I'm only twenty-two." He tilts his head. "Do you know how old Jang-mi is?"
"Yeah, she's mommys age." He shrugs.
"And how old is that?"
"Twenty-one."
"Who told you that?"
"Mommy."
"Your mommy lied."
Meanwhile, Jang-mi still stood at the bottom of the front door steps, watching as Dino happily parked his car and got out.
"What are you doing here?" She asks before walking up to him.
"Thought we could go together." He opens the passenger door and reaches inside. He pulls out a bouquette of flowers. "For you."
"Chan, I could've just taken the bus."
"Well, I knew you would be nervous and leave your house two hours early, hence the flowers to remind you that you got this. I also know you'd completely skip over whatever delicious breakfast your dad made-"
"Actually, Seo made breakfast today."
"Really?" Dino fans his face. "He's all grown up!"
"Oh, gosh."
"Anyway, I bet you didn't eat. So..." he reaches into the car again and grabs out a meal box. "I made you french toast to eat on the way!"
"You didn't have to." He takes her makeup kit and backpack from her and gestures for her to get into the car. She gets in as he sets them in the back seat. He immediately hops into the other side and sits down. "But thank you."
"Anytime." He smiles and turns in his seat to face her. "Okay, is this outfit okay? You said to wear black."
"Yes, this is great!" She sets the bouquette in the back seat before turning back and running her hand over the sleeve of his black button up shirt. "Obviously, your clothes will be covered during the time I do your makeup, so they don't get ruined, but after, I'll just have you modeling up in the front for the interns to come up and see your makeup up close."
"Sounds good to me." He smiles and pulls open his glove compartment. He grabs out a few napkins and lays it down on her lap. "So, your romper doesn't get dirty."
He carefully reaches over her, grabs her seatbelt, and buckles her in.
"Thank you." She smiles and sets the mealbox on her lap.
"Mhm!" He lifts up a water bottle in the cup holder. "I would've gotten you a coffee or something, but water is good for your throat, so you can project your voice well today."
"Why am I having deja vu?" She tilts her head.
"Debut day." He says. "You know Jang-mi, you always say you were irritated with me in high school, but majority of the things you did says otherwise."
"I don't know what you're talking about."
He leans his head toward her. "Oh, really?"
"Make sure you drink lots of water tomorrow morning. I heard it's good for projecting and stuff. Not coffee Chan, water!" He shakes his head. "And uh..." Jang-mi taps her foot. "Don't forget breakfast!"
