Only You [Dino Seventeen Fanfic]

Book Details

Hey Friends! Now that the book is over, I decided to give yall a little extra info on the book and small details about it that I think would be fun for you guys to know about! So, enjoy! Haha!

Inspo :
This version of Only You was honestly inspired by a video of Dino that I had watched of him removing his makeup. Thinking, wow he really washes his face really well, i wonder what it would be like to be a makeup artist for seventeen. And boom! The idea was written down lol! So slayyyy and shout out to svts makeup crew!

Fun Facts :
- This version of Only You is actually the second version! The first version of Only You was originally supposed to take place in LA, and the character Cha Jang-mi, was actually supposed to be Hong Jang-mi, Joshua's little sister.
That version consisted of Jang-mi being a high school senior, who lied about being in a relationship with her brother's bandmate(who is her age), who later on came to America to be her prom date and eventually caught feelings for her. Luckily, lol, storage decided to act up and accidentally deleted that version, bringing forth, this version, which by the way, I think did WAY better than the first one wouldve lol.

- the first scene i had ever written of this book, was actually in the wedding chapter! the scene where Geon goes to get Dino and threatens him to send Mingyu out to marry Jang-mi was the first scene to be written. the next part to be written was part of Dinos wedding vows! as time went on, i had to constantly move that chapter while writing, so you can imagine my excitement when i finally got to put that draft to use!

Character Inspos/Details :
- Cha Jang-mi :
Cha Jang-mi was a character I just kinda created and went with the flow with. So, i dont really have much to say about her and the kind of person i wanted her to be like

- Cha Seo-jun :
Cha Seo-jun was a character I created based off of my nephew, whom I consider like my younger brother. He is five years younger than me, and someone ive taken care of and looked after since the moment he came home with my brother. Seojuns character was created as somewhat of comedic relief, while also emphasizing the relationship he has with his sister. A funny, annoying, bickering relationship, but one that when tested, can't be broken. That is how my nephew and I are, and that's what I wanted Jang-mi and Seojun to be like.

- Kang Sua :
Kang Sua was based off of two of my older sisters lol. Theyre both wild in their own ways, and loud in their own ways, but two of the most down to earth people i know. Kang Sua's purpose in the book was to give Jang-mi a friend to confide in and someone to push her beyond her limits. Someone that Jang-mi could turn to if she ever needed advice, especially about Dino.

- Soo and Suni :
Soo and Suni were both characters that I created based off of my nephew and niece. During the time i started writing this book, i had just gotten back from a trip out of state to take care of my nephews and nieces for five months. that was when i decided to add in a few younger characters, to sort of test the waters for Dino. their purpose, and especially Soo's, was to create an environment for the readers to see how great Dino treated her family and how much he loved the little kids in her life, practically foreshadowing him and how he would be as a father.

- Mr. Cha and Mrs. Son (Jang-mi's parents) :
Jang-mi's parents were based off of my parents, lol. Mrs. Son, was a character i created in honor of my late father. Someone who ive been told stories of, and never gave my mother a reason to be angry with him. To me, my dad is the kind of person i strive to be like in every aspect, which is the reason why Jang-mi thinks so highly of her mother, and a lot of the things she does, revolve around her or are inspired by her. Mr. Cha was created based off of my mom. A somewhat old school parent, who has high expectations of the man i will decide to bring home (if there is such a man lol). Mr. Cha was also just kinda a character i played around with and shaped him into someone i wouldve considered as a perfect father to Jang-mi.

- Kim Minjae :
Kim Minjae was actually one of the first characters I stormed up as i was creating this book. I knew that i wanted Dino and Jang-mi to have some sort of fall out after his enlistment, but i wasnt entirely sure what it should be. That was when i created Kim Minjae. Originally, Minjae was just supposed to be a friend to Jang-mi, someone everyone loved, but then I kinda thought, why would Dino love this guy, hes literally in his way bwahhahaa! So, i made sure that when i wrote him in, he had to do something that genuinely urked Dino and got under his skin. Minjae was genuinely just the fall out character lol, i also based him off someone that i will not talk about lmao #trauma lol
