One Year Later

"Third times a charm, right?" Dino nervously stood at the bathroom door. "Right babe?"

"Chan..."

"I'm just trying to stay positive."

Jang-mi closes the lid of their toilet and sat down. "I don't know how you can be positive. I'm worried."

"Don't be." He crosses his arms over his chest. "If it doesn't work this time, we can still try again."

"We've been trying, Chan." She sighs.

He presses his lips into a straight line before walking over and squatting down in front of her. He takes her hands. "Hey, let's stay positive. If anything, we can set up an appointment with your doctor again if you're still worried, but she said there was nothing wrong, and I trust her judgement."

She nods. He reaches up and quickly pecks her lips. She rests her forehead against his as they wait.

"Chan? Jang-mi?" Seungkwan walks into the room.

"Bathroom!" Dino calls to him.

He walks over and stands by the door. "Anything yet?"

She shakes her head. "Not yet."

"Geez, I'm nervous." Seungkwan runs his hands through his hair. "And it's not even for me!"

Dino turns and looks at him. "Are the guys still playing games on the TV?"

"Nah, we're getting ready to head out and get some food." He says. "I just wanted to come check in on you guys and see if there's anything you guys wanted."

Dino looks up at Jang-mi, who was sitting with her eyes closed. He turns back to him. "Um, we don't care. Just get anything."

He nods before walking out of the room. Not too long after, Jang-mi's alarm goes off, startling the both of them. Dino stands up and helps her up. She takes in a couple of deep breaths before walking over to the sink. She picks up the two sticks and looks at them.

"Hm." She hums softly.

"What does it say?" He asks.

She sets them down before turning and facing him. She shakes her head. "Negative."

He leans his head back, taking in a breath before standing up straight again. "That's okay." He nods. "We can try again."

"Um, it's okay Chan." She says. "I know you're upset."

"No, I'm not." He grabs her hand and gently pulls her into a hug. He presses a kiss to her forehead and hugs her tight. "Little Yi Chan's just being stubborn."

She giggles before hugging him tighter. He feels as she begins crying in his arms. "S-Sorry."

"Jang-mi, it's not your fault." He rubs the back of her head. "These things take time."

She nods and continues to cry. He picks her up into his arms and walks her to their bed. He lays her down and she turns, facing away from him. "Sorry, I'm just f-frustrated." He sighs before getting in beside her and hugging her from behind. It took her about half an hour to just cry it all out. He sat there, softly rubbing her side and making simple remarks here and there to comfort her until she was fast asleep. He turns, sitting on the edge of the bed and burying his face in his hands, tears beginning to stream from his eyes.

A few minutes pass and he hears the front door begin to unlock. He quickly wipes his tears, gathering himself up, and quietly leaving the room. He shuts the door behind him.

"That was fast." He says.

"We wanted to eat toge-" Wonwoo pauses. "You okay?"

Dino nods, wiping his face dry of the tears that still managed to escape his eyes. He clears his throat. "Y-Yeah, I just hate seeing her cry."
