Prologue

“I am going to miss you so much,” My mom gave me one final hug. I moved to my dad and gave him a hug to and then lastly my brother.

My best friend Riley and I had finished high school last year and now we were heading off to London for university. I was so excited, it had always been my dream to go to England for school. I was from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada and had lived here all my life but I had always known that I wanted to go and live somewhere else for a while and London seemed perfect.

I was going to be studying Environmental Biology and Riley was going to be studying Law. I had always been pretty good in school and the environment always interested me.

“Flight 197 now boarding, 197 now boarding,” The announcement was made just as Riley finished saying goodbye to her parents.

“Goodbye,” My mom.

“I love you,” My dad.

“Have fun, sis,” My brother.

“I’ll miss you guys so much,” Me.

“Come on, Piper,” Said Riley as she tugged me away to the boarding area. We happily got on the plane and waited for take off.

Once we were in the air I pulled out my iPhone and started listening to some Ed Sheeran. The music choice seemed appropriate for where we were currently headed and I snuggled down in my seat and closed my eyes.

I was so happy and excited I couldn’t wait for our adventure to begin.
