Chapter 16

Harry’s POV

As soon as I saw that creepy guy dancing with Piper I got jealous.

I had gotten a drink when we first came into the club, but then got kind of bored. I danced with a couple girls, but none of them really interested me. Eventually, I just gave up and started looking for Piper.

I spotted her dancing with Eleanor in the middle of the dance floor. She seems kind of drunk but she looks so hot in the short dress that I told her to wear. She sexily swings her hips back and forth to the beat. Damn.

She’s still dancing when some guy comes up behind her. Eleanor kind of dances away and doesn’t notice, but I do.

I’m not even sure if Piper knew who she was dancing with, because she kept her eyes closed.

I see the guy lean down and whisper in her ear, making her eyes pop open. She looks shocked, like she hadn’t expected him to talk like that or something.

Before I even realize it, I’m pushing my way through the sweating dancers towards her.

“Let me go!” I hear Piper yell but the guy just pulls her closer to him. He leans down and whispers something in her ear, she makes a disgusted face and try’s to wiggle away from him.

“Let go!” She yells and that does it for me. I rip the guy off of Piper and turn to him.

“She said let go!” I yell at the guy and feel my anger rising. My fist clench and  I’m all read for a fight, but the wimp just mumble something and stumbles off.

I consider going after him when I feel a small hand rest on my arm. I look down and see Piper looking up at me, even in her high heels she’s still shorter than me.

“Are you okay?” I try to ask her but she just looks confused and I see her shout. “What?”.

I grab her hand and pull her to the other side of the dance floor, to a quieter hallway.

“Are you okay?” I ask her.

“Yeah, I’m fine. Thanks for that, by the way.” She looks relieved and I’m glad I helped her.

“No problem,” I say, I don’t want to leave her alone again so I ask. “Do you want to get a drink?”

“Sure,”

That was clearly a bad idea. Only a couple drinks later and I can tell that Piper is very, very drunk. I wish I knew she was such a lightweight before we came here.

She keeps flirting with everyone, and her dancing skills are only getting… well, I’m not sure if its bad or good. Her dancing gets sexier, which I do like, but she keeps dancing with a bunch of guys, who also seem to like it too.

Both my jealousy and my anger rise as she starts grinding against this random guy on the dance floor. I get up from where I’m sitting and walk across the dance floor, I grab her arm and start pulling her towards the exit.

“Hey,” She protests. “I was having fun,”

“I’m sure you were, but it’s time to go home now,” I pass Liam by the exit and quickly tell him we’re taking a cab home. He nods and promises to tell the others.

“I don’t wanna go home!” She whines. I just ignore her and hail a cab. One stops in front of us and I gently push her in.

I tell her address to the driver and he starts driving.

“You’re so forcefully, Harry,” She giggles. “That’s hot,”

I roll my eyes at her drunkenness.

“God, who knew you are such a lightweight?”

“Yup,” She giggles again. If she wasn’t drunk her giggle might have been cute. “It’s a good think I don’t have school tomorrow,”

Well, at least she has some logic when she is drunk.

We pull up to her building and I pay the driver. She stumbles up to her front door with my behind her. Half way to her flat, she trips over her heels and I catch her before she hits the ground. God, how do women walk in heels, even when they aren’t drunk?”

“Thanks,” She giggles, again.

We reach her door and I just stand there, waiting for her to unlock it, but she doesn’t do anything.

“Get your key out,” I instruct her.

She takes two steps so she’s standing directly in front of me, with only a couple inches between our bodies.  She presses a hand against my chest and cranes her neck up so she can whisper right into my ear.

“Why don’t you do it for me?” I remember where she keeps her keys and shiver slightly. She stays close to me a second longer than necessary and then leans back, taking her bottom lip between her teeth.

Damn. Even drunk she’s hot.

“Just get your keys out, Piper,” I say tensely.

“Your loss,” She smirks and reaches into her bra while I look away. I hear the key slide into the lock and know it’s okay to look back.

I go into her flat with her as she drops her keys onto the table and pulls her phone out, putting it on the table with her keys.

“Come on,” I say. “Let’s get you to bed,”

“Harry Styles is taking me to bed,” She giggles as she leads me to her bedroom.

I walk in behind her as she sits down on the bed, crossing her long legs.

“You know Riley’s not going to be home all night,” She says and grins. “We could make as much noise as we want,”

As tempting as it was, I didn’t want to have sex with Piper if she wasn’t going to remember it in the morning.

“I’m going to go get you a glass of water,” I announce and walk out of the room to the kitchen. She was one of those sexual predator drunks, this is not helping my little crush.

I come back a couple minutes later to see she’s already passed out on her bed.

I don’t want to wake her, so I place the water on the bed side table and gently remove her killer shoes. I slowly take off her bracelet, but when I go to remove her necklace her eyes flutter open.

“No, leave it on,” She says so quietly, I almost can’t hear it. I notice that the necklace she wears now is the same necklace I have seen her wear every day since we first met.

I wonder why she always wears it, but now is not the time to ask. I think she’s asleep, so I go to leave but her small hand shoots up and grabs my wrist before I can.

“Don’t go, please stay,” She sounds so pleading that I can’t leave her.

“Okay,” I say after a moment. I pull my blazer off so I’m left in my jeans and tee shirt. I lie down and pull the covers over both of us.

Unexpectedly, she turns around to face me, with her eyes still closed and rests her head on my chest, intertwining our legs. Her arm is slung across my waist and I hesitantly put my hand on her bare shoulder.

She seems to relax and I plan on staying just until I’m sure she’s asleep, but eventually my eyes droop and I can’t help but fall asleep, with Piper wrapped around my body.

And I couldn’t be more comfortable.
