30 - Reunited

We were waiting for GOT7 to come over before my man catches his flight back to his hometown. The both of us hardly had any sleep last night as we got updates about his dad's condition as well as packing his luggage.

Apparently, his dad is making a little improvement but the doctors told his mom and brother to not put their hopes up high as there might be a chance he could die too. It was heartbreaking to see Bobby break into tears.

I should be the emotional one because my mood swing is practically all over the place. However, we switched roles. I was the one who comforted him.

[Flashback]

"We are sorry, Mr Richard. The surgery did not went successfully as we expected it to. I am very, very sorry to say that your wife, did not make it through," The doctor announced and left.

Ashlee, who was sitting at the waiting room was busily playing with her Barbie doll. Richard did not know how to announce this news to his one and only daughter. He knew that his wife and his daughter had a very special bond.

Married at 20, while his wife was 18, they tried having a baby multiple times when Ashlee was conceived when he was 29 and she was 27. It was a joyous occasion as the couple finally got what they wished for.

A very upset and confused Richard approached his daughter. He tried to hold back his tears, not wanting his daughter to see him cry. He placed his hand on her hair and started to caress it.

"Daddy, where is Mummy?"

That made him heartbroken. He did not know what to say to her. She was still too young to know all of this.

"Mommy...Mommy is...sick," He stuttered.

She placed her Barbie doll at the side and pouted.

"Daddy, I...I had a dream about Mommy," she confessed.

He frowned. "What do you mean by that sweetheart?" He pushed her closer towards him.

She started telling him her dream. As described from her dream, she was walking on the clouds. She was in a while dress when suddenly her Mommy appeared alone. Ashlee told him how beautiful she is. Her Mommy reached out her hand and took her somewhere in the dream.

They suddenly reached a place - a waterfall. Mommy sat her down on her lap and then sang her favourite lullaby.

"Ashlee, promise Mommy something," her mom said.

"What is it Mommy?" Little Ashlee asked. She was staring at the water falling.

"Take care of Daddy when Mommy is gone okay? Be a good girl and always listen to him,"

And then her mom disappeared making her wake up from her dream. While telling Richard the dream she had, she started crying.

"Daddy, don't...don't lie to me. Mommy is gone...she is gone isn't she?"

Talk about being a five year old and smart at a very young age.
His lips trembling, he embraced his one and only daughter. He cried in front of her obviously saddened by the loss of his wife.

By that emotion of his, his daughter knew that it was true. She also cried along with him a little, but eventually became normal as she knew that her mom would be save and lead another perfect life up there.

"It's okay daddy. Mommy is going to have fun up there," she said.
