Chapter 18: The manipulation

Reaching into her chambers, her smell hit his nose. Lavenders, still lavenders.

He gazed at the interior of the room, which he wasn’t able to do the previous time he visited here. Nothing changed, everything was still the same at same place. 

His feet guided him to her closet, to gather some clothes of hers, to feel her close to himself as he can’t afford someone catching him here, in her room, she might hate him even more for trespassing her room.

He opened the door to almirah, which was filled with all black and white clothes, except a few colored clothes. “You stole colors of her life Your Highness” he heard a feeble voice from behind him, he turned to find Netra, standing there with a grim expression.

“Indeed I did,” he mumbled.

“You should have died that day, my child wouldn’t have suffered this way, she would probably moved on from a dead person, but moving on from an alive person is quite difficult” she blurted out, letting her anger out, anger she had pent up inside, seeing her soul daughter emotionless all these years.

Kyle gasped hearing her, but the dominating part of him considered her to be right. He should have died.

“I should have,” he whispered.

“It’s not late now too” Netra said, ruthlessly, being selfish for her Avni, she thought if there won’t be any Kyle then whom will she hold upon, she would be able to move on finally.

“Will it solve everything, will it end her miseries?” Kyle asked, looking up at the woman in front of him. She nodded, “Not only hers, but yours as well, who knows in next incarnation you both might have a different destiny” she whispered, her conscience told her she was doing wrong however her mind told her opposite.

Avni’s POV

Everyone was congratulating me and Sehaj, I had a fake smile plastered on my lips, however my mind was pondering upon thoughts of him. This must have hurt him a lot, but why don’t I feel the satisfaction I am supposed to feel? Why is my heart paining.

A lone tear escaped my left eye, “Wanna step back?” Sehaj murmured, I shook my head in denial.

A royal guard came over to Maan bhai, who was standing beside me with Sia who was busy blabbering shits to Sehaj.

“Your Majesty, the Korean King……..” I heard the words escape in a panicked manner from the guard, “What happened to Kyle?!” I asked about being worried for him, forgetting all the grudges and everything.

“Sit down Avni, I will deal with it!” Maan bhai said in an orderly tone. 

Everyone’s attention snapped upon us, but did I care, no I didn’t, all I cared at the moment was him, his well being.

“Kaka aap bataiye kya hua unhe” I asked, “Rajkumari-sa” he lowered his head, indicating that he can’t tell me. I sighed in frustration.

“Maan Bhai kahiye inhe, batayein humein, kya hua hai Kyle ko” I ordered Maan bhai. 

Author’s POV

She was sitting beside him, staring at his unconscious pale visage. She didn’t care about her clothes being stained with his blood, even though she was a clean freak.

She knew her engagement must have hurt him, but she didn’t know Kyle was this feeble, that he would take a step to end his life, how could he, didn’t he think, even once about her, how much it would hurt her?

“Did I risk my life then, only to see you here?” she murmured, as tears rolled down her cheeks. "Why are you so selfish Kyle, don't you care about my feelings even slightest?" She sobbed. "You could have asked me to not marry him and I would have obeyed it but you never did Kyle and I took it as your approval to my marriage with him. Marrying him was just convenience for both him and me, but you own my heart Kyle no matter what you do and if you really are apologetic then be mine, make up for your mistakes but you did just opposite you chose to quit….. why Kyle you even once didn't think about me then?" She asked hysterically even after knowing the fact that he was in coma.
