This upcoming part is also part of a flashback but this time its Toothless's memory.
There is a nice grass clearing with Toothless, and his sister who has some brilliantly ice cold blue eyes, his father who also has blue eyes but a tad bit darker than Toothless's sister and Toothless's mother who has greenish yellow colored eyes other than that there are small differences between the family members. They are all playing happily with Toothless and his sister trying to fly as their mother patiently nudges them to their feet each time they fall down and then repeatedly shows them how to fly and use their wings. Toothless's father is sleeping nearby with freshly caught fish in a pile next to him as the nightfuries have been storing their food. A rustle in the bushes causes both the mom and dad to get up and perk up their ears. The sound gets closer until a guy with a bony and lanky build bursts out with a small knife. The father immediately jumps into action and lunges at the guy. The guy dodged quickly and the father lunged again but this time the guy had a surprise for him. He took out a crossbow and shot Toothless's dad however he only seemed frozen and not dead. Next the mother blasted a plasma blast at him but to no avail as he hid behind rocks and peaked his head out so she would shoot until she reached her shot limit. Worried about Toothless and his sister she runs towards the guy who simply retreated into the trees where he was finally able to capture her, the guy although feeble was able to drag Toothless's mother out into the open just a little bit because he had to make sure that she would not be able to roll on something sharp and get out of the net. He lifted his hands over his head with the knife being held in both hands the blade was pointing downward towards his mother. Toothless was frozen to his place and could not move. His mother looked at the hunter and she dropped her head closed her eyes and made a sad moaning sound.

Toothless watched in absolute horror as the guy drove his knife down in his mom. Just then Toothless's father broke out of his freeze and lunged at the guy this time he hit him and had gotten a good scratch on his chest. The father roared at Toothless and his sister to go and hide in the woods so that he could find them later. The two siblings didn't go far and hid in grass near to where their father and the guy were. The dad blasted the guy causing him to fly back and it looked for a moment as if Toothless's dad had won the fight, but the guy got up quite calmly brushed the dust of his shoulders and dropped to the ground this triggered a big snap trap to be flung in the direction of the dad which he tried to blast it away but it didn't work and it caught him with his muzzle shut tight from the trap all he could do was wiggle and struggle until the boy again looked down at the dragon in his eyes as he raised his hands over his head.
Guy: The unholy offspring of lighting and death itself, falls at the hands of a single guy.
Down came the knife and Toothless's dad stopped struggling. Then the person whistled and one black and red dragon came and it had a long stinger tail.
Guy: Find the other two.
The beast growled in delight as it raised its head and sniffed the air and to Toothless and his sister's horror the dragon looked straight at them, extended its teeth, and ran towards them. Both split up and although both wished with all their hearts that they could fly. They couldn't and ran as fast and as far as they could. Although technically, Toothless never saw what happened to his sister, he had a pretty good idea. As her calls of distress were quickly cut off at one point. Toothless had been lucky that day as he had only gotten away with a scratch on his side from during the chase as he had bumped into a trap; however it was only partially working and had only given him a scar. He was generally very happy and believed that this guy had died or had moved far away, unfortunately he was wrong as he had smelled the awful trap that was heavy laden with that guy's scent, but now he was older now and probably had stronger resolve then ever to destroy nightfuries, which made him more dangerous.
