CHAPTER NINE

The day ended faster than I thought it would, there wasn't much to do as I didn't attend the rest of my classes for the day,I slept throughout the entire afternoon. When Lewisa knocked off from class she came and woke me up.
  "Wake up, wake up Lu  what happened,why didn't you show up for the afternoon classes"
I still wanted to sleep and I felt so tired, Lewisa waking me up irritated me so much,her questions too were annoying it's like she was making noise in my ears.
  "Let me sleep" I said to her
  "You've been sleeping all this time Lucy it's time to wake up and do something productive"
  "What productive thing is there to do in this school apart from being used by a teacher"
  "What are you saying, get up and tell me what happened when you took that letter"
  "I don't want to talk about it right now Lewisa"
  "You will feel better once you talk about it with me, get up Lucy"
I immediately got up and sat up in the corner of my bed, my eyes were swollen from crying, I could see how sorry lewisa felt for me and that made me feel more bad.
  "This relationship isn't good for you, if its doing this to you it's better you leave before things get worse Lucy"
  "I know Lewisa, it hard to just walk away I love Likando"
  "You love him yes, but does he love you back"
I didn't answer her because I knew very well that he doesn't as he clearly mentioned it to me, I sat in silence for some minutes till I gathered the courage to tell Lewisa about what happened, I didn't leave out anything I made sure to tell her the exact words Likando had used, the words he had said kept ringing and playing in my head repeatedly.
  "Mr Likando is a bad man, were does he get the audacity to alter such words after everything that happened" Lewisa said as she was equally shocked as me
  "I dodn't understand what I did wrong or maybe I didn't something"
  "Alot of men don't come out direct as he did, they let you figure it out on your own to say you are been used"
  "Lewisa I can't seem to understand everything, after the sex we had he gave a thousand, I still think he cares his just under some sort of pressure that's why he said that to me"
  "Stop being delusional and dumb Lucy, what's wrong with you"
  "I know him that's why am saying so he has problems that are stressing him at the moment"
  "What problems are those Lucy, did he bother to tell you what they are about"
  "No he didn't, he promised to tell me everything when he comes back, he was in a rush he could tell me then"
  "You are being dumb in this situation honestly, can't you see that there's something off about every thing that man is telling you, are you so in love that you can't see all the signs Lucy"
  "Don't make me feel bad Lewisa, stop judging me"
  "You should be feeling bad Lucy, all this is wrong and it shouldn't have happened worst of it all you go and have sex over again! What is wrong with you, in return he gives you money, don't you think you are selling your yourself, this man clearly told you no strings attached, don't you have a conscious or something to warn you"
  "I don't know why you are acting like my mother right now, but stop enough!"
  "If I keep on advising you sooner or later you will regret"
  "Am the one who will regret not you so stop it Lewisa"
  "You are so stubborn and you never listen"
  "The damage is done already and if I leave him now then it will be my loss not his"
  "I see"
  "Stop giving me that attitude"
  "What will you do now Lucy"
  "I will just wait for him to come back then hear what he has to say"
  "Lu don't you think its time for us to find out more about Mr Likando"
  "But from were, where will we start from Lewisa"
  "Let's go I have someone in mind that would be willing to help us find all the answers"
  "Who may that be if I may ask"
  "Our school martron Madam Charity"
  "Madam Charity, why would we even dare to go and ask her about her fellow teacher, she will know about everything in an instant"
  "Madam Charity is my aunt, she's the sister to my father"
  "I still can't ask her about Likando I don't trust her, this is confidential Lewisa, find somebody else not her"
  "I have talked to her about most of the teachers at this school but not Likando"
  "Am curious why did you talk to her about other teachers"
  "Lu alot happens at this school and you are not the first in such a situation, I won't get to that for now, let's go pay her a visit"
Lewisa and I walked to the teachers compound side by side,  along the way she told me about everything that they had learnt in the classes I had missed, we passed by Likandos house which was empty, I wondered whether or not he was inside and just decided to switch off the lights but as usual I was just overthinking no normal person would do that unless if he committed murder or something and his on the wanted list by the cops, I realised Lewisa was still talking I didn't listen to most of the things she said, this girl loved talking and it was so annoying to my ears.
When we reached it looked as if there was no one at home,we knocked on the door there was no answer after few attempts of knocking the door finally opened.
  "I'm here! What a surprise Lewisa I haven't been seen you around, you no longer visit me as you used to, what do I owe this unexpected night visit"
  "How are you aunt" Lewisa said
  "Am fine dear and how are you? You are looking well and gained weight since the last time I saw you" said madam Charity
  "I am fine aunt, this is my friend Lucy"
  "Nice to meet you Lucy, you girls can come in"
We entered the house, everything was in an orderly manner and it was very clean.
  "Please take your seats girls, as I get you some orange juice and scones" said Charity.
We took our seats I wasn't comfortable been in that house but looking at Lewisa she was very comfortable that she even turned on the TV and began to watch a reality show, when madam Charity came back with a tray of delicious looking scones and orange juice she offered it to both of us.
  "Is there something wrong that has happened that has made you visit me today Lewisa"
  "No aunt nothing has happened am just hear to find out about something"
  "And what would that be"
  "My teacher Likando"
  "Why would you want to know more about Likando, is there something that you aren't telling me"
I began to get nervous at the sound of those words, this is it everyone will know about the secret affair Likando and I share, what will Likando do to me after finding out I told on him I thought to myself.
  "I have asked you about every teacher at this school before and I wish to write something about each one of them as this is my last year here"
  "Are you sure dear" said Charity
  "Yes I am aunt"
  "Likando lives a private life, he doesn't let anyone know anything about him those close to him are the ones that know everything about him, all I know is that his hardworking and is either in a relationship or is married am not yet sure what it is exactly but am hoping to find out soon, if I do I will surely tell you"
  "Thank you aunt, I will just use him being a hardworking man in my writing"
  "Yes dear but if at all there is something going on please inform me about it"
  "I will definitely do that aunt, we now have to take our leave as it is getting late"
  "Alright dear take care of yourselves and keep yourselves safe remember no man should lie to you just like I have always told you"
  "Alright aunt have a good night"
  "Good night girls"
I wasn't satisfied with her response is he married, is he not married, now I have to expect the news of him having a partner, is that why he keeps on being in a hurry and his phone constantly keeps ringing these thought kept worrying me.
  "Don't think about it too much Lu, in some way or another will find out about him"
  "How can it be so hard to fund about about a common man, its so stressful"
  "Will figure it out tomorrow for today let's lice it here" said Lewisa
  "Alright"
  "By the way tomorrow no excuses or whatsoever its the last of testing and we  shall test"
  "You can test, if I don't what I won't test"
  "It's important to know about your HIV status, you will have to test"
  "Alright mother will shall test, happy?"
  "I will be happy when I see you do it, now get into bed and sleep"
  "Good night Lewisa"
  "Good night lu"
   "Switch off the light Lewisa"
  "No you switch it off Lu, I don't wanna move am already comfortable in bed right now"
  "Okay sure"
