Shouldn't have done that.

A cold spring morning in 1865 in April...One of the small city's orphanages would regularly send children out on their own when the orphanage got full. This time, a small five year old boy got pushed out the doors with a simple "goodluck". With nothing but a slice of bread and a way too big shirt and underwear, he wandered around the outside of the city.

After about 4 days of wandering, living off of food he had stolen or gotten gifted from some nice passers-by, his feet hurt and he was cold. A man on a big brown horse, long black hair in a tie, round glasses, a black suit, white gloves, passed by. The horse stopped in its tracks right next to where the small, tired boy was standing, shivering from the cold.

"What's your name, dear?" The man spoke. The small boy looked up at the man, contemplating if he should trust a stranger with such information. With much hesitation and a shaking voice, the boy replied: "Lunas Dinoir...sir". The man's eye lid up. "Lunas Dinoir huh? Well nice to meet you sweetheart, my name is Frederic Abdine, but you may call me Fred...or ringmaster" Lunas his head tilted in confusion. "What is a ringmaster?" The man got off of his horse and crouched down to Lunas his level. "The ringmaster is like a person that leads the show in a circus! How do you not know that?" ... There was a long silence. "I'm from an orphanage...I don't really know much beside how to make bread and take care of other children..." The small boy looked down in shame, yet the tall man let out a small laugh, placing his hand on the boy's shoulder. "How about I show you what it is? It is a very fun place...Maybe you'd like to stay as well?" The boy got a small smile on his face and nodded. Fred took his hand, leading Lunas to the horse before picking him up and placing him on the horse. Fred got on the horse as well. "Hold on tight, kiddo". And with that, they headed down a small trail with the horse walking at a steady pace once it reached a big gate. Behind the big gate was a big plaza with many small booths. At the end of the huge plaza, in the middle, was a tent. A tent so much bigger than Lunas had ever seen before.

Frederic showed Lunas around and introduced everyone there. Apparently they performed tricks and did shows with animals for people's entertainment. Once all the showing around was finished, Fred crouched down to Lunas his level again, handing him his jacket and putting it around his shoulders. It was obviously too big but he felt warmer. "Do you want to join the circus, Lunas?" Without hesitation this time, Lunas nodded slightly. And that's where everything began. Lunas began with small training, picking up everything left behind at the circus after busy days such as purses, money and left over pictures from the photobooths, etc. He learned how to take care of horses and how to swing on the trapeze, as well as standing and getting on and off of the trapeze safely. He grew close to Frederic over 5 years, calling him "pa". But after those 5 years of making Lunas comfortable there, things took a slight turn. He was forced to do much more training and way harsher and more dangerous training. Frederic grew quite sadistic and Lunas quickly realized Fred only wanted the money. Lunas his acts grew more popular as the time went by. From looking unique because of the spots on his skin, his long dark blue hair to his insane acts as a 10 year old. Over the years, he grew more and more numb to others, he didn't smile anymore and was arrogant sometimes, but only when he spoke. "The act of sweet Lunar" was what his act was called. They called him "Lunar" mostly. The moon between all the stars. The stars were the other performers. He was happy at first that he had gotten a home, but afterwards, he thought to himself a lot that he shouldn't have spoken to the man that day. He would have died if he didn't but it would have been better for himself.
