"Lunas, wake up.."

A soft voice woke Lunas up. He opened his eyes to see the sky a dark shade with the light hues of the moon. Linda was in front of him. He was lying in his usual spot where he went when he wanted to be alone, lying on the old cozy blankets under the rock of the tiny cave.

"What..what's the time, Linda?"

"2 in the morning"

When Lunas heard Linda's question, he quickly got up to his feet and headed back to the circus grounds with Linda.

Upon returning, he grabbed an apple he had stolen from the local farmer nearby earlier that week. He finished the apple and planted the core of the apple near his caravan. Anything to get more food.

He entered his caravan, stripped down to his underwear, and went to lay on his mattress, staring up at the metal ceiling of his caravan. Lunas yawned. He was tired but there was too much on his mind. With too much he means...Othello. The kissing. The way it is so wrong and the consequences it'll cost both of them if anyone ever found out. They'd be hunted down and killed or even decapitated.

Kissing a boy as a boy is unacceptable. You could get killed or hunted down for it. You'll be seen as unholy. As an alien. Then why did Lunas give in so quickly to Othello? He was slowly starting to hate himself for letting his guard down like that. He remembered the disgusted look in Othello's eyes. The troubled look as he wiped his mouth. That's something Lunas will never be able to forget. It hurt. It really damned hurt to see the disgust in Othello's eyes.

Lunas was regretting even looking at Othello at this point.

He got up from his mattress and went outside. He walked over to a bucket of water and washed his face, his hands, and then started combing his long, dark blue curls. He wet his hair, washing out some of the dust and dirt that had caught in his hair that day.

He saw a tiny toad jumping around in the grass, distracting himself from combing his hair thoroughly the second time after washing it.

He put down the comb and grabbed the toad in his hand, holding it up to his face to examine it.

"Hello there...let's get you somewhere safer."

Lunas mumbled to himself before walking to a nearby river that was at the back of the circus ground. He placed the toad down in the grass and let it jump into the water. He walked back to the caravan and went to sleep. He finally got some sleep.

He didn't know what time it was but at least he got some sleep.

He wondered if Othello thought of him as that toad he saved earlier. If Othello saw him as a circus star and nothing else, not even human, like everyone else.

Now...it's not like Othello looks fully human either. He was crazily flexible yet strong.

What? Can't Lunas have someone to look up to when it comes to physical shape?

His sleep was way less peaceful than it normally was. His neck was tense and his head throbbing, causing him to wake up every half hour. But at least he got some sleep. It had been a long time since Lunas got some decent sleep, good sleep or not.

Or did he?

Tomorrow is a different day. Or so he hopes.
